Quaint property in a perfect local!
Our stay in Alison's glamper was perfect! Three of us ladies wanted to get away and enjoy some outdoors and this was perfect for it. The camper was convenient and dry as it rained two of the nights. The screened in picnic table was also a huge help. We did bring our own grill grate to put over the fire that I would suggest if you are want to cook over the fire. There were plenty of trees for us to hang up hammocks and clothes lines. The camping was wooded to provide privacy from the house, but the house wasn't too far to use the shared bathroom.
Alison & Garret were very welcoming and friendly. They had great suggestions for local places to check out! We look forward to a future stay so we can see all of the additions to the property that they are dreaming up!
This location was perfect for us to be able to get to the river for kayaking, for hiking, for swimming, and for stores to purchase necessities that we had forgotten. Everything was within a 20 minute drive.
Highly recommended and...let's also not to forget to mention Winter, the resident pup <3
We had a really good time and it is the best spot for the perfect getaway. They also have a tent with a picnic table and solar powered lanterns which made our dinner very special. There's a ton of activities to do and lots of local shops to explore which is a great experience that you wouldn't want to miss.
Perfect base - explore the st croix
My daughter and I loved the cozy camper, the warm welcome, the feeling that we were appreciated, the location, everything! This is a great home base if you want to explore this part of Minnesota and Wisconsin: along the St. Croix River. This is the most accessible and beautiful part of the state. The St. Croix River at this point (south of Taylors Falls, north of Osceola) is calm, shallow, wide, clean. We kayaked via Taylor's Falls Canoe Rental: paddled/floated/swam all day. Amazing! Our hosts were awesome! Made us feel very welcome! I highly recommend it!
Alison and Garrett were super accommodating. Our reservation for a cabin at the nearby state park fell through, and Alison was ready for us in two hours from when we sent her a message! They were nice and helpful. Charming pop up camper.
A wonderful getaway!
Lovely spot! Close walk to the house, but absolutely still felt very private! Short little hike down to the river, bring bug spray! The camper has all the basic needs, and kept us dry from the rain! Our pup Murphy had a great time playing with the resident dog, and we loved exploring the surrounding area! Thanks for a sweet stay :)
Staying in the camper was so beautiful and just the retreat we needed! Spent lots of time by the river and just exploring the area. Such a great time and Alison was incredibly kind and helpful. Hope to be back in the future!
Allison and Garrett were great hosts! Their dog Winter would come check in for a quick pet and be on her way. She was such a lovely addition to our stay. Short walk to the St. Croix river, but quite steep. I enjoyed the walk. Lots of trees to hang our hammocks and a clothes line. It was great to have the screened in picnic table since we had a few rainy nights. I'd directly recommend!
Overall we had a pretty good experience. The hostess had a bouquet of wild flowers and a hand drawn map (leading the beach trail) ready and for us on the table of the camper. It was a welcoming touch! The camper was tidy and had all of the essentials. We used the candle Provided because it was a little musty in there. During our stay the weather was hot and humid and rained a little off and on, with no fan there wasn’t a lot of air flow once you zip up the camper. We slept OK. The camper was a little closer to their house and the road than we expected. The shower was nice, but you had to walk through their kitchen to get to it. It didn’t feel very discrete. Don’t forget the big spray!!
