Matt and Candice were sitting by the fire when we arrived just at sunset. Very friendly. Let us pick a spot anywhere in the large yard to set up the tent. Matt had a long extension cord for us to use. The bathroom is not part of their living space, so you don’t have to worry about waking someone up in the middle of the night.
They had a fire going the two nights we arrived around sundown and can tell you the best place to get pasties- Krupp’s market.
Less than an hour from the Porcupine Mountains and about two hour to Copper Harbor.

We loved this place the first week of June because there were very few mosquitoes along the river near Lake Superior compared to the swarms we had encountered in the woods around the Porcupine Mountains.

Matthew's instructions were perfect and we had no trouble finding the place (despite having no cellular network). We were able to pitch our tent at a beautiful spot which was secluded but at no point did we feel unsafe. The beach is just a couple minutes walk and is not too crowded. We wanted to start our hike in Porcupine Mountains the next day and made in there in about 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend his place.

A very friendly couple who own a peaceful property. We were here for a short time, and even for the small interaction, they were incredibly sincere.
We pitched a tent under a tree and it was very comfortable. We built a fire on the beach of Lake Superior and saw the Comet Neowise.

The land is at the end of a very small town surrounded by some buildings, but it does NOT deter from the peacefulness, comfort, and feel of being in between a river and a beach front lake. Wish we could stay longer.

Bathroom was clean, camping area was well maintained, and although we didn't need electricity, they offered it and it was made available if we needed it.

Nice place, a bit urban but good for a quick stop for us. Nice grass area, great host, everything we needed. Great morning views cross the Ontanogan river and a short walk to a sand Lake Superior beach. 20 miles to the Porcupines if that is what you want.

The hosts were very friendly and the site is accurately described by previous reviews. The music at neighboring building wasn't really an issue after a tiring day of hiking and being just a short walk to the beach was perfect. Coming from a more urban environment where being "in town" means less stunning night skies, I didn't expect to see as many stars, but was pleasantly surprised by the stars.

Near Lake Superior on a river was perfect for us. Matt and KJ were welcoming and continually helpful. We spent time at our site by the river watching beautiful sunsets over the lake. The beach is a block away.
We plan to return in the future.
