We arrived at around 10 PM felt bad for keeping our host up waiting for us. He was so kind and accommodating. He had an extension cord that was super long for us to plug our pop-up camper into and he recommended we take the five minute walk to the private beach and it was priceless. Lots of driftwood to gather and we made a roaring fire right as the sun lit up the sky. Then the Milky Way lit up and our family of four all had giant smiles on our faces. If you lake access this is the spot!

Staying at Matt’s property worked out great for us and our dogs. My son and the dogs played in the yard and on the waterfront and all had a wonderful time. We made a fire on the beach and paddle boarded in the river and on Lake Superior. There are many waterfalls and hiking trails within an hour drive. Bugs were a bit annoying but that can happen anywhere you camp! Matt and his wife were very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed our visit with them.

Matt & Candice were great hosts! The campsite had plenty of grass & shade for my pups to enjoy! Close to the porcupine mountains, and all the beauty the U.P. has to offer!

Site was AMAZING!! Our hosts were awesome too. They stayed up for our later than expected arrival, helped us with lighting to get set up, gave us the lay of the town. Super friendly, LOVED the town, we WILL see them again next summer!

Matt’s place is a wonderful place to stay, and he’s a friendly and welcoming host. After arriving he gave us the rundown and we were able to setup our tent just a few yards from the water. My girlfriend and I had a great time cooking by the firepit at night. We slept peacefully as all was quite quiet, other than the birds which were fun to hear in the morning. After waking up we made coffee on the beach of Lake Superior which was just a block away. A really great overnight stay for any UP adventure.

I would definitely stay again. Matt made our first hipcamp experience fantastic! The property was well kept, on the river, and a minute walk to the beach. The views were incredible! Thank you so much!!!

At the beach about a 3 minute walk from the property! Moon shot from our tent! Our tent :)

Beautiful, quiet area to camp. Lots of yard space to set up a tent. Right by the river and just a short walk to the Lake Superior shore. We spent most of our trip at the Porcupine Mountains, which is only about a half hour to get into the park.

Matt and his family were friendly and helpful! They have a fire going most nights and are welcome to you joining them by the fire (we tend to keep to ourselves mostly while camping, but it was very appreciated!) The bathroom is clean and convenient.

We would definitely stay here again!

The hosts were friendly and the location was great. We loved watching the sunset across Lake Superior - right across the street!
