Welcome all you hipcampers!  We have  600 sq. ft rustic cabin with electricity, microwave and  hot  burner in gorgeous Leelanau County, Michigan about 6 miles from Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore!  This is a very private and rustic site.

Our cabin sleeps 6+ - there is water available to bring in only a 1/4 mile away at Miles Kimmerly Park Memorial Day through the end of September usually.  We can also haul in some water in blue jugs - This is 7 wooded acres with some trails (marked) just 3.5 miles to Big Glen Lake and Old Settlers Park. Our cabin about 6 1/2 miles to Lake Michigan where The Good Harbor Beach is on Bohemian Rd., and as stated very close to Sleeping Bear National Lake Shore and much more that picturesque Leelanau has to offer!

There is not heat, this is a rustic listing however this is a cabin and think of this as glamping as you will not deal with the rain and the elements and you have the place to yourselves in our beautiful county!  There is air conditioning here! One bedroom with 2 twin size beds and an open bedroom area with a set of bunk beds.

***There is a 15 amp outside plug to hook up a camper/trailer as well

Please bring your own bedding/sleeping bags, pillows, linens, lawn chairs, water and firewood (burn ban permitting) etc. See you soon!

This was the ultimate in “rustic glamping!” The cabin, furnished with beds and furniture, was stripped down (no plumbing and exposed studs) but there was electric and AC, which was welcome on a warm summer night. We arrived late at night, and our host graciously left the lights on for us.

The best part of our stay was it’s proximity to everything! Most importantly it was 15 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes where we hiked and explored, and 30 minutes from Traverse City and Platte River Point, where the warm river water meets the cool lake water. Lots of people floating and rafting down the Platte River.

If you’re looking for a nice “rustic glamping” experience, close to everything this area has offer, then give Born Aglen a try!

Angela was more than helpful in answering my questions when I was prepping for our stay there. She made it welcoming and comfortable for us. Everything was clean and tidy and made for a simple vacation. It was the perfect balance of glamping for my family of 5. It was a great location between the Dunes, Glen Arbor and Fishtown, which were our main attractions. Even the rainy days we enjoyed, all cozied up in the cabin with books and coffee. I highly recommend!

There are many beautiful locations in the area. Our host gave us a lot of helpful suggestions. This lookout was one of our favorites. There is a line to dry clothes. The host left us plenty of these full large blue water buckets for multi use. The Sleeping Bear Dunes is a must. The endless sand is quite a sight, and fun for the whole family.

This little cabin tucked in the northern woods of Michigan was just what I needed for some solitude away from work. I enjoyed sitting by the fire every night and waking up to sound of nature. The rustic cabin is well furnished and feels like home :)

This rustic cabin worked out well for us. It definitely still felt like camping but kept us out of the weather. The beds were very comfortable! The kids loved the bunk beds and the vintage toys. We cooked over the fire and did the Dune Climb at nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes. This was just a short last-minute trip for us, but I would definitely like to come back and explore the area more. Angela was a great host - very informative and responsive. Thanks!

The cabin is easy to get to but has a nice secluded feelView of Glen Lake from Dune ClimbBeds were comfy!
