Enjoy all that the Northern MI area has to offer while feeling secluded and in the middle of nature itself. Our cozy little tiny home has been our fun side project for years and is always being updated and improved. It features a queen loft bed and a padded dining area that converts to another double bed. It also features a propane powered full size shower, composting toilet, and basin sink. AC is available in the summer and heat is also available in the winter. Just outside your door you can walk down our 5 minute trail to Chandler Lake, a quiet 40 acre lake on the East Side of Traverse City where you can swim, fish, paddle, and boat. Our trail is rustic, so keep in mind you'll get a little hike in when visiting the lake, but we promise it's worth it! There is a public boat launch to easily put in your kayaks, etc. if you'd rather not walk them up and down the hill. Nearby you can access great natural areas like Brown Bridge Quiet Area, Sand Lakes Quiet Area, the Boardman Valley, and the TART and VASA trails! All of this just 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City and 10 minutes from the large State Park beach on Lake Michigan.
*The Tiny is currently up for sale - dates will be accepted as far out as possible.*
Please note the tiny that the tiny was set up for friends and family originally, so it is oriented in a way that faces our home and not the lake, currently. Keep in mind that it's not necessarily 'private space' when sitting outside the tiny as it parked in the far corner of our drive next to our home, but you are welcome to head down to the lake for more separation from the house.
The tiny is located right next to our home so it's important that you request to book and are a good fit for our space. We want to share the tiny with campers who are clean, respectful, relaxed, and want to enjoy the area. It is also our priority that our neighbors and neighborhood are considered and respected as we do live in a small, quiet subdivision that happens to be in a beautiful little forest.
When requesting, please be sure you submit your name, a bit about you and what you're looking to do during your visit. An email or social media page we can verify is an added bonus!
Quiet hours are from 10 PM - 7 AM daily and must be respected - keep in mind that sound travels VERY easily over the water. :)
Finally, we consider the tiny to be in the 'glamping' stage - still on the rustic side and needing some finishing touches. Please be mindful of the open staircase, basin sink, and composting bucket toilet as some the more rustic elements. There are some battery operated and push battery lights, as well as some string lights located inside the tiny. Please bring any additional portable lighting you'd prefer.
Please see the kitchen supplies listed and bring your own paper products and personal towels.
We will leave a list of our favorite TC spots in the tiny for you to explore and are more than happy to share a campfire with you during your stay. You're likely to meet our fur babies while you're here as well, so if you bring your own, please be sure they are friendly. Please be sure to review the pet rules before booking.
Pets are welcome - there is an additional $20/stay pet fee that will be separate from your booking. Please leave this fee in the tiny house in the designated can at the end of your stay. Please, 1 pet per group, always on-leash, and never left unattended.
We have two canoes available for rent for $10/day which can also be left in the tiny or via Venmo. Please arrange this with us ahead of time or inquire about their availability while you're here.
Grace is also a professional photographer (due to timing, this listing only shows cell phone pics), so don't hesitate to inquire if you want to commemorate your visit with an adventure or family photo session!

Adorable tiny house on lake
Grace and Chris were lovely hosts. They were helpful
But not at all intrusive. The Tiny was decorated perfectly and felt magical while inside. Our kids had a great time fishing off their dock (and caught lots of little fish 😊). There was also a great little mountain biking trail that Chris told us about right at the end of cul de sac.
The tiny house is great! Grace does a good job of explaining it, so there were no surprises when we got there. The setting is beautiful. It is a bit of a hike down to the lake, not in distance but in elevation! Our boys had a blast fishing off of the dock, and we had a lovely place to sit and watch them. The house is cozy. Grace & Chris were very friendly as well.
Tiny home was cute and a fun stay. Good location outside the city and on a lake that makes you feel remote. Only downside to note is that if you are traveling with a dog you will be met with a $20 fee when you arrive. Also if you want to use a kayak it's another $10. I found that to be a little excessive and sneaky but I missed it when booking.
