Gőkotta {zho-‘kOt-tah} noun Swedish; The rejuvenating act of rising early in the mornings to hear the first birds sing outside in nature. The purchase of this land is a step towards living my dream life. I am so honored to share this small portion of such a beautiful land with you.The First Camp Site - Located on a Seasonal road. Spacious PRIMITIVE campsite with a fire ring. Dry sandy Sugar Maple forest with ferns and beautiful forest vegetation. A high dry place for tents or a small RV. The property is centrally located for a wide variety of adventures including just being yards from well-marked hiking trails that double as snowmobile trails in the winter. Lake Huron swimming is available at two beautiful locations within 5 miles of the campsite along with Cranberry Lake ATV trails and the Nature Conservancy hiking trails. Travel just 20 miles to Hessel to experience high dining at the Les Cheneaux Culinary School, and check for seating availability. Raber Bay is about 4 miles away and has a public boat launch to help start your day of fishing out right. For a longer day trip head 50 miles to Sault Ste. Marie to experience the Soo Locks, great food, and shopping on Portage Ave.

Easy and quiet
The site was easy to find and level. Very nice rustic spot. Great place to get away for some peace and quiet. I would definitely recommend this camp site.

Relaxing and Peaceful
We had the most relaxing time on Kirsten's land! The space was just off the seasonal road, but had very little traffic. The trees and land were beautiful! My husband and I loved being the only campers & enjoyed the peace and solitude. It is conveniently located between Cedarville and Detour, where we were able to pick up more ice and having some great meals. Some beautiful sand beaches and trails are also nearby. The mosquitoes were out full force as well as black flies--plan accordingly! As stated before, the composting toilet is a distance from the camp sight & the terrain is not entirely flat. There is lots of deadfall around the property for camp fires. We absolutely loved it & we look forward to coming back again!!

Sugar Maple & Fern Forest
It was a great secluded spot. It was very easy to find, the directions provided were great. We got to hear many different birds, including owls and loons. Having the composting toilet was nice for a novice camper like myself. The coastline driving in was wonderful. We met the host on the last day and she was very nice.

Lovely!
This was one of the quietest places I have ever stayed. Absolute silence, and close to great kayaking spots. Almost no traffic, and with a fire the mosquitoes were manageable. The outhouse is great, tho as others have said, when nature calls, plan ahead for a longish walk.

Sugar Maple & Fern Forest
Kirsten greeted us and brought us firewood. Showed us around the property which is well shaded with maple trees. We were the only campers (in an RV) so privacy was great. Absolutely zero road noise and Kirsten gave excellent directions. Only drawback was the mosquitoes, but summer in the north woods comes with mosquitoes. No internet but some beautiful hikes near Lake Huron.
