Camp on your very own island! Lake Michigamme is located on the western border of Marquette County in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Lake Michigamme is a 4,292 acre glacial formed lake with depths up to 70 ft. There are 18 islands and you have the opportunity to stay under the canopy of old growth pines on Footprint Island!
The only way to the island is a three mile trip by boat. You can borrow our canoe (life jackets are provided), or use your own boat. You will be able to choose from three tent sites that will be clearly marked. Feel free to use either decks over looking the lake. There is a small portable grill and deck chairs for you to use as well. Otherwise, please pack in/out everything that you'll need!
You will have complete privacy to fish, skinny dip off the floating dock or at the swimming area that has ladder. Enjoy star gazing, canoeing amongst the islands, relaxing on the deck while the sun sets and eagle watching on the west side from a viewing bench.
