Both Little Bear and Woodland Prairie tipis are nestled in the big pines where you will be able to hear all the night songs and the breeze gently blowing the tree tops as you drift off to sleep . There is a private fire ring available in the clearing outside the door so you can enjoy the campfire under the brilliant northern stars at night.

Tipis are primitive camping, with no bedding etc provided, you need to bring your own.  You might want to bring a moisture proof cloth for under your sleeping bag and mosquito net since it is a tent in the pine forest.

I have allowed for four people to sleep in the tipis. There is room for four to sleep but keep in mind this is a 12' circle and the sides do not go straight up. You don't have 12' of walking around room. Also, the entrance can very easily be modified to accommodate a wheel chair, so if that would be of interest, please let me know. The accommodations are simply the same as a tent with no beds, cots or mats. When you get close, if you're on M66 your GPS will get you here with no problem, but if you're coming from the west (US131) please let me know and I will make sure you're directions are clear, as GPS will lie to you and drop you off in the middle of the swamp a mile away. There is no swamp here, I promise.

We had a great 2 days at little bear. Julia is so friendly and kind, very helpful with information and places to go. Do yourself a favor and buy some eggs from her, you won’t regret her fresh farm eggs, delicious!
This site is a fun rustic with 40 acres to explore and LOTS of wildlife. We fell asleep to the sounds of deer rustling around and coyote and wolf howls in the distance, we even thought we might have heard a bear!

We traveled North to do some mushroom hunting and wanted a place to stay that we could roll in and enjoy without setting up camp. I haven't stayed in a teepee before so thought it could be fun. And, it was! It's about a 35 min drive from Grayling area but well worth it. The teepee itself is beautiful and well made. The grounds it sits on feels untouched and magical with white moss glowing in the sunset. Cool trails and room to explore. They let their goats out to welcome us, but didn't see them after walking back to the site. Overall a beautiful space to lay your head, you won't regret it!

Andrea, I just discovered this response feature on the sight! I'm sorry this has taken so long! I was thrilled to have the two of you come and share the land that I love so much. I am pleased to tell you that I now have a wagon and a cart to help get your gear to your campsite. Thank you so much for your input! If you ever find yourself in the area again, please let me know, and I would love to see you come back. Thank you for being such thoughtful campers.

Julia was really flexible and communicative. The land was beautiful- especially the seating and fire pit out in front of the tipi. My partner and I had trouble sleeping because of the mosquitos (we were there early July) so if staying in the summer, consider bringing a net or some way to keep the bugs out! The air mattress that was there also lost air half way through the night so I would recommend bringing your own tarp and sleeping pads/ bags and just sleeping on the ground!

Julie was really responsive with instructions and questions before we showed up. She was available to bring us wood, and was really nice to talk to. Her dog Anna was the cutest. As a queer couple we felt really safe on her property.
As far as the teepee experience, I recommend bringing a mosquito net of some sort, and some citronella incense. If your weekend is supposed to rain, bring some sort of tarp because the teepee is open at the top. Luckily we didn’t have to deal with that. Overall great experience.

Everything was great, and Julia was so kind! We had a very private campsite with a great fire and setup for hanging out around it. Sleeping in the Tipi was a cool and unique experience, and it was great to meet the owner's sweet horses & dog as well.
