The secluded tent campsite looks out over a 3-acre pond, which features two active beaver houses, ducks and an occasional blue heron.   Wake to the glory of bird songs,  pick some organically-grown berries for breakfast (mid-July through late October) and explore the trails around the farm or follow one that connects to Ashfield town trails for a longer hike.  Prepare a delicious meal in the gorgeous stone fire pit and enjoy an evening under the stars.  The campsite, which is a short walk from your parking spot - about 150 feet, has space for two tents and accommodates up to six people and features a picnic table, hammocks and a nearby open air latrine toilet. Please note that the parking space is for a single vehicle; additional vehicles can be parked near the farm house. Guests also have access to a bathroom and shower in the barn.  In addition to organic berries, Bug Hill Farm is known for its fruit shrubs, cordials, and conserves, which are available in our farm store.  We manage our land following organic and regenerative practices to grow nutrient dense berries and to foster native habitat for wildlife and pollinators.  The diverse habitat (open fields, early succession woodlands, mature forest and pond) make this property a haven for birds and bird watchers.  This property is the ideal spot for those looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway in the great outdoors. Come and enjoy this magical land! Check out our website to learn more! **Due to Covid protocols, please let us know in advance if you'd like to reserve a tie to pick berries.

A lovely, secluded spot. The site feels rustic and wild, as if you had to hike in, but you can easily walk to the farm and around the property via well maintained paths. Further, the site has many thoughtful conveniences that we appreciated- especially with our three year old. Overall, a superb experience we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and hope to enjoy again soon.

We loved staying there! My friends and I were on a bikepacking trip and it was awesome to roll into a campsite with water and firewood waiting for us. The campsite is on the edge of a pond, far from the main building. There's an outdoor toilet screened by trees at the site, or you can walk five minutes to the barn where there's a toilet and even a shower which was very welcome. Sam was super helpful. Bring earplugs if you're not used to nature sounds; the bullfrogs were loud!

From start to finish our stay at Charlotte and Sams hipcamp exceeded our expectations. Our family agreed that their property is exceptional. The privacy, wildlife, stargazing, and cant forget to mention the cleanliness. One member of our group never really experienced using a latrine and she was very surprised at how clean it was. Charlotte was always quick to respond to my messages, but also gave us our privacy. The site is perfect in every way. Nice walking trails right from the site, and for those who wish to go off trail, the walk around the 3 acre pond is worth the adventure. I cant forget the firepit, we spent many hours cooking and laughing around the fire. The site offers firewood for sale for those who dont want to gather their own wood. Lots of shade on site throughout the day. Beautiful sky at night. I could go on forever about our experiences at Charlotte and Sams hipcamp. My family never left the property, if you want to spend time with your family in a beautiful and safe setting this is the place to be.

Steps to private sitting are near camp, great place to enjoy morning coffee. Preparing for dinner.Enjoying the beavers worrkmanship.Relaxing in the hammocks near the pond.

Such a great campsite! Charlotte and Sam really went above and beyond in setting up the site. They included everything we needed, and even things we didn't think we needed, like oven mitts and fire wood place ahead of time. The site was very private and pristine, you couldn't hear the road. 10/10

Holy wow! This place is a real gem. Totally blew our expectations out of the water. The pond view was amazing, love all the different little trails leading to and from the campsite, hammocks were a nice tough, it felt secluded, Sam and Charlotte were super helpful and friendly, but also gave us privacy. We love their list of recommendations and we will definitely be camping here again next summer. Oh, yes and maybe this goes without saying for some, but keep your eyes peeled for the spiders! They’re everywhere and we had one get in our tent which ended in a hilarious and very intense battle of trying to rescue it and return it to land.
