Awesome spot right by the water. Not perfect for swimming because of algae but amazing kayaking and night fishing. Plenty of seating with table and available fire pit. Hose water utilized and bathroom facility very close. Privacy at the site, and host nearby. Very friendly and available for any question or concern.
The camp site was exactly as described with a private bathroom in a “sun room” in the residence- a short walk away. You walk from your car- not far- but there are wheel barrows to use to the site. It is literally right on the water and is beautiful., you are the only ones there. They have tiki torches, citronella candles, a grill, and some cleaning supplies. Not sure if that is there all the time or we just got lucky. They have a kayak you can use too and life jackets. We met Donna who was lovely and when the firewood was a bit wet, they went out and found us dry wood, which was good because we were cooking over the fire. There are two picnic tables, which was great! Definitely confirm if they have firewood before you go in case you need to grab some. All-in-all, we loved it and so did our dog!
We had a wonderful experience with the riverside campsite. The place is quite good size for four people or so. Two tables, four benches, firepit, firewood first kit, and insect repellent candles are provided. The bathroom (extra pay) is clean and comfortable. There is a state park and deli store nearby. The hosts (the couple) were super friendly and communicative.
We had a very nice time at this camp! Our kids spent a lot of time playing in the water which was about chest deep on them at the end of the pier when the tide was high. There is a lot of beneficial grass in the water, which they didn't mind. We saw bald eagles and other large birds which was a nice bonus. The site isn't very far from the host's house but you can't see it through the trees and it was quiet. Use of the bathroom on the sun porch was nice. Host was friendly and showed us around when we arrived.
We had a wonderful stay at Chicamuxen Creek! Michael was so friendly, helpful, and very prompt to meet us and give us all the information we needed as soon as we arrived.
The site was private enough and we felt very safe. Many options for where to pitch a tent, so definitely a great place for larger groups/multiple tents and many great Eno spots as well! Lovely morning views and a spectacular sunset over the Potomac River. Would highly recommend this stay to anyone hoping to get away and enjoy some beautiful views and nature!

Mike was a great host, showed us where everything was, and then let us do our thing. We saw him a few times over the weekend, including when he brought us more firewood. The site is a couple minutes walk downhill from where we parked, and he lent us a wagon to bring our stuff down.
A hose with well water is near the site, and there are convenient trash bins, too. We had plenty of space for two tents. There is an old dock, and we had fun watching the water and birds, and fishing from there. Nice fire circle, a cooking grate, and two tables, so plenty of room for cooking and eating. Inside bathroom is through the bottom level of the house, and they had lots of windows open to keep fresh air flowing.
There was some poison ivy, so keep an eye out. We visited in September, so the mosquitos were hungry, but that seems to be everywhere right now.
All in all, a nice weekend respite not too far from home.

A pleasure to host campers who get right at it and make themselves at home we have found when you just let them be they have a great time
We had a great time. The hosts showed us around and were really helpful. The river view is beautiful and there several Bald Eagles to watch fly around.

Thanks so much for visiting...it is our pleasure to host such wonderful people who are just looking to relax for a few days
Very private, beautiful spot right on the water. Beneficial grasses in the water limit swimming but kayaking was great. There is some poison ivy. Hosts are welcoming, and were very responsive if we needed anything.

campers are your best observers....yes we do watch the weather so with a little rain we pull out the dry wood....there is plenty all over and most firewood we offer is what we clean up ...some big oaks drop a lot of branches....being able to host in 2020 is a blessing we can share
