Matthew’s campsite was luxurious and amazing! He and his family were extremely responsive and hospitable. Our stay was absolutely perfect - the campsite itself is hidden away in a completely private area, right next to a creek which was amazing to have in the background. There was hot water for an outdoor shower and sink - truly wonderful to look at nature and be showering! Matthew thought of everything including a stove and oven, a grill for over the fire, firewood, matches, an axe, cutting board, fridge, portable lights, a king sized air mattress.. just literally anything you could have wanted. I’d highly recommend this cute oasis!

My friends & I had a great experience. Matt had everything ready to go when we got there & even helped us load our stuff onto the ATV & brought it down to the campsite for us. The area is gorgeous & we could not have asked for more. Thank you again for such a great stay!!

The site was a wonderful escape from the busy world! We and our kids loved playing in the picture perfect stream. We saw frogs, minnows, a doe with a fawn crossing the stream, and loads of butterflies. The tent setup was awesome and had everything we could want and more. Lots of hiking were available right across the street. Matt and his family were amazing hosts!

We had a lovely time at Matt's place. We loved the sound of the creek and Matt was super helpful and gave us delicious coffee upon arrival and fresh eggs to make breakfast. He was very attentive, but also gave us our space, which we really appreciated.

There was a hiking trail walking distance from his place and plenty of others a close drive away. It got a little cold by the water so make sure to bring an extra blanket!

Make sure to get BBQ from Jake's up the road.

It’s honestly hard to put into words how amazing our weekend escape at Matt’s creek Hipcamp was! On top of of being the perfect location, privately located in the woods right next to a creek, Matt was an incredible host and somehow thought of EVERYTHING you could even imagine needing! The cherry on top was also the creek side massages and axe throwing lessons!

This was hands down the highlight of my summer so far and I can’t wait to return again this fall!

Just had an amazing weekend at the creekside escape after hearing from a friend how much fun she had staying last weekend. The area is beautiful and the set up at Matt’s is just perfect —it feels very secluded despite only being an hour and change from DC. Matt was great from start to finish, very responsive, helpful, and enjoyable to talk with.

Awesome Experience!!!
With that said, if you are serious about enjoying this site, please actually like being outside. This place is for those of us who ACTUALLY like the outdoors. For us, this was glamping. Hot water showers, small refrigerator, indoor 2 burner camping stove (we never used it, we cooked over the fire pit that has a movable cooking grate), king size air mattress... the list goes on. If you're looking for wifi and phone charging capabilies, this is not the site for you. You may be unhappy. There is actual nature here, bugs and all. Bring bug spray if such things bother you.
Now, on to the amazing relaxation options we enjoyed here! We saw that someone had built a fire "pit" on the creek for day time enjoyment. We had a good time making some modifications to it, and enjoyed the heat of the day lounging in a hammock over the creek, and a couple of tubes sitting in the water next to the fire in the shade, smoking a cigar, beers and wine kept cold in the creek, and a gentle breeze over the water. It was glorious! We explored up and down the creek, caught crayfish, actually had some swimming holes to swim in, and snorkeled them to catch some crawfish. Lots of little fish, frogs, snakes, etc. It was like being a kid again!
Lots of animals around. Deer, raccoons and typical forest creatures. There's a fox that hangs out in the area.
You really can't go wrong here. If you forgot something, there is a Walmart 9 minutes away. We had a great time, and plan to visit here again!
