True to the name!
Grace and her lovely family were wonderfully thoughtful and accommodating throughout my stay. I set up my tent back in the forested area behind their barn/shed, which is quite pretty and affords some privacy. I enjoyed watching the sun set down the hill through the trees every afternoon. I also spent a day hiking on the Tuscarora trail across the state line in PA. There's a section with a high ridge affording great views -- just ask Grace for the details. This was a great first experience with hipcamp for me. Highly recommend!
Nice place, great hosts!
Our hosts were very welcoming, helpful, friendly and generous. They shared electricity, water, access to fire pit, and fresh veggies and eggs with us! We had some pleasant, interesting conversations with them. We also love kids and dogs, and they have both, so we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Most families I think would feel the same and there was even a trampoline and play set for kids. If you are looking for absolute privacy and isolation, this probably isn’t the place for you if you have an RV. They did have a site back in the woods though, which would be more private for tent campers. For us, this was unique, affordable, and very convenient to the rail trail for cycling, so we were very happy campers! We would stay again for sure!
The hosts were very kind and welcoming and I felt safe, thought it was unclear where to pull in and the site is just off their back yard, not as private as it appeared. But it was great in a pinch and a great price. Hosts offered us a pick of their garden.
Our stay was filled with harvesting amazing food from the garden and the forest behind the house. There were an abundance of ripe black raspberries and we enjoyed spending an afternoon picking them. Grace and her family were friendly and welcoming, and we spent the majority of our stay hanging out with their four kids, who were all full of energy and eager to play with us. The RV site is directly in their driveway next to their house, so while it doesn't provide as much privacy as the tent site that's tucked back in the woods, it was nice to have access to water and electric. This place is perfect for a family camping trip or for the social camper wanting to spend quality time with their friendly host family!
