Tuckerman's Cabin is a small cabin up top of Pleasant Mountain / Shawnee Peak. The cabin offers immense privacy and views for miles and miles. Watch a beautiful sunset over Mount Washington and the Presidential's of New Hampshire.
Tuckerman's Cabin sleeps 6 in two bunk beds and a fold out futon. Basic kitchen amenities are provided, including dishes and utensils, a propane grill, a 2-burner camp stove and washing water.
The cabin is naturally lit during the day and battery powered lamps are provided for the evening hours. A propane fireplace will keep you warm during the cooler evenings. Raised fire pits and firewood are ready to use as well as a natural outhouse.
We recommend that our guests access the cabin via their own means - hike-in during the spring, summer and fall months and ski-in during the winter! It's about an hour hike from the parking lot or you can take the chairlift up in the winter.

The vibe at Tuckerman's Cabin

Everything about our stay at the Tuckermans Cabin was perfect. The hike up the mountain was a little strenuous, given the pitch of the terrain, but the hike itself was very enjoyable. There's something very nostalgic and enjoyable about hiking up ski slopes in the summer heat, especially if it's at a mountain that you've skied at in past winters. Once we got to the cabin, we were blown away by the spectacular view in the value below us and the peaceful solitude that the area afforded us. Once we went inside, we found two propane grills and a 6 gallon water container that made cooking breakfast and dinner a breeze! It is also worth noting that the kind folks at Shawnee Peak also provided cookware and utensils to eat with, so the only things that we really needed to bring were a sleeping bag, a pillow, a change of clothes, a headlamp and my camera. The bunk beds in the cabin are also ridiculously comfy. I came in expecting a plastic cot, but was delighted to find that the mattress was very cushioned and soft. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of my stay here, from sitting around the campfire to cooking haddock on the deck, and would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful mountain retreat.
Amazing sunsets from the top of the ski slope. Clean, comfortable lodging with water and firewood provided. The hike up is bit of a climb (straight up the ski slopes), but well worth it for the experience at the top.
