If you enjoy solitude you'll love the Bucket Inn. This camp is a great place to go to unwind. Enjoy the sound of content ravens and crows who nest in the woods around you. Listen to the bitterns in the marsh. (For those who aren't familiar they sound like a pump). They all seem very happy in our marsh.
Wild life abounds. Its a quick 2 minute walk into the woods but once there you forget about the road. Our property is just across the road from a Nature Preserve, we see lots of deer, an abundance of turkeys etc. We had a pair of geese in the pond this spring who gave birth to 5 goslings. Come see what you can find.Enjoy the security of having a roof over your head while still doing a bit of roughing it. The Bucket Inn is surrounded by majestic pines and borders a beaver pond. It has a sleeping loft built for 2.
Wildlife abounds, occasionally you may even be entertained by otters. Sit by your own campfire or if the weather is adverse enjoy the warmth of your wood-stove inside. A 2 minute walk from the road makes it easy to carry your gear in to this site. Limited supply of water and wood are provided. Located just down the road from Hidden Valley Nature Center, a 1000 acre preserve run by Mid Coast Conservancy. Lots of other short hikes in the area as well. Retreat to this cabin and renew your soul.
