Make your home for the night in the woods by the ocean. Little piece of paradise is tucked in the woods on Frenchman Bay at the end of a private drive with no neighbors-- driving through the gate you will feel a sense of peace, joy & tranquility. Fantastic stargazing and sunsets from beach and views of the surrounding mountains and islands. Fall has gone and the leaves have dropped but winter brings a different peaceful kind of beautiful.
The property is off a swimmable (in summer or WIM HOF) sand beach on Frenchman's Bay and adjacent to several miles of well maintained hiking trails. At night hear the loons, seals in bay, treefrogs, distant coyote howls and owls hooting to each other. During the day you are just a two-minute walk from beautiful hiking trails onsite on the Taft Point preserve with a variety of tree species and terrain. And 15 minutes from the Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia. For amazing views walk through the woods down to the beach or stay stationary and look around you.
Please read through our entire description before booking :)
Winter weather/snow: Sometimes we get snow, sometimes we don't. Please check weather for Gouldsboro ME. If there's snow coming or on the ground, AWD is strongly advised.
Site is in woods of your choosing on my land, rustic backwoods wilderness rustic no/low amenity camping. There's my home and will be other campers here but not within ear or eyeshot, so you'll find a private spot completely to yourself. If you choose to car camp your site will be visible from my road, and you may see the occasional passing car on the driveway. Here you'll have the security of an on-site host & anything you may have forgotten I'll likely have onhand to give/lend.
This site can be as deep into the woods as you would like. You may have a fire here in the firepit. If you like to cook over open fire, there's a swing away self leveling cooking grate over the fire pit, or bring your preferred gear. Site in summertime features a bench for sitting around the fire and solar string lights for easy arrival, which can be turned off.
Here you can walk directly to the beach to watch the sunset from your campsite.
This is a pack-in pack-out leave-no-trace piece of land; there are no trash facilities or dumpsters, pls take your trash with you. Our priority is to keep the land here pristine and respected. Our mission to utilize and experience but save and protect the environment can only be accomplished with the active mindfulness of YOU! We are here to prove & provide an extremely magical alternative to traditional campgrounds, that does not degrade the environment or break the peace that our small town still contains. As a courtesy to Mother Earth and fellow campers, please leave the land better than you found it & do not burn any trash other than paper products.
Please keep your speed down while driving on our quiet neighborhood road and on road. Together we are here to be an example to others of what mindful camping can be and what deservedly respite and respect for nature holds in this seemingly chaotic crazy ever changing modern world.
We are not a commercial campground. Our goal with Hipcamp is to provide a place for seekers of peace to gain a better relationship and appreciation with nature in a world that has forgotten the importance and connection we all have with the planet that sustains us. Taft Point is holding space for the organic growth of regenerative community in an insane world. Thanks for caring and being apart of the solution.
We love welcoming people to our property and are happy to answer any questions about the area. We look forward to meeting new people and making new friends.

Lily's land was peaceful and gorgeous, and we really lucked out with the weather! We just wanted a nice, quiet spot to set up camp for the night before a long day at Acadia, and maybe a place where we could stargaze (and watch the Perseids meteor shower!) and sit on the beach. Lily's place checked all the boxes, and we got up the next morning to make coffee on the beach and kayak around the bay a little bit. I wish that we had gotten there a little earlier when we arrived so that we could explore the trails on the preserve, which looked really cool from what I glimpsed.
We opted to set up our tent right by the parking spot and fire pit but there were plenty of flat spots a little bit closer to the beach that would have cut down on the walk a little bit, which was still only like 2 minutes.
Lily was very helpful, answering all of my questions via text and providing local food recommendations and clear directions to the site. Would stay here again for sure, although I also would love to stay at one of her other sites on the same property (the A-frame looked so cool!) Thanks, Lily!

Lily’s land is beautiful. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset over Frenchman’s Bay with harbor seals barking across the water. We loved biking Schoodic Peninsula! A great adventure! Thanks Lily for sharing your beautiful spot with others.
We had such an amazing time staying on Lily’s property, that we didn’t want to leave. It was very serene and breathtakingly beautiful. Sunsets and stargazing were out of this world! The location couldn’t have been any better. Lily was a very welcoming, helpful, and responsive hostess. She continuously went out of her way to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed. Thank you, Lily, for sharing your wonderful place with us! We cannot wait to come back.

The property is incredibly gorgeous! The main draw is the access to a secluded beach, where we enjoyed moonlit and morning walks (and a very cold dip). We found the best/flattest place to camp was not on the mulched area near the fire pit, but rather down on the path/road to the beach, on a flat portion. It was a good home base to explore Acadia (it’s about an hour drive away, but very beautiful).
Lily's land is just beautiful! The beach is spectacular and serene and we couldn't have stayed at a more ideal place. The campsite is just off the road (but it is a private road with only two houses past it and it is still very quiet). The campsite doesn't have much--only a fire bin and bucket to collect water to douse the fire. Lily was very informative and clear about what was available at the campsite and by request and sent us a doc explaining all of her land policies and courtesies expected by all campers. She was quick and responsive in messaging. Only suggestion I'd have is to put up a clothesline for hanging wet camp gear and maybe a bench for sitting. Overall, the stay was great, access to the beach was the best part!
This is a fabulous location. It’s one of the best places I’ve ever camped. I highly recommend this site.
I cannot say enough good things about this spot. The site was clean and had several level spots for tents. It had a fire pit as well as plenty of wood lying around. You can pull a car right up to the site, and the road to the site is a private road that is just used by the campers and the residents of the house - very quiet! From the site it is a short walk down to a beautiful pebble beach with incredible views and no one around but a few other campers. You can also walk to the wonderful trails of the taft point preserve, one of which has an interpretive trail that is terrific for kiddos (and curious adults!). Winter Harbor and the Schoodic part of Acadia are just a short drive away, and the trails and sites there are world-class. Enjoy your visit to this incredible place!

Thank your for your review and visit! It brings me joy to share this special place that is with others who feel about it. As a respite from daily stresses, being able to sit, relax and enjoy the beauty here just seems to improve our outlook and we hope it has the same effect on others.
We stayed on Lily's land because we wanted a camping spot to end our day at Acadia and wow did we luck out. We arrived right as the sun was setting on the ocean and it was STUNNING. Lily was quick to respond to messages and the directions to the site were very thorough. We had no problems finding our site and we were able to drive in easily with our Ford Transit Connect (we car camped). The site is a quick walk to the beach and you can even see the ocean through the trees from the site. We woke up the next morning and made a fire on the beach, what a dream.
Beautiful spot, close to the bay. It was very peaceful!
