We request that guests wishing to launch fireworks, ask our permission and if permitted, we will show you to a predetermined area of the property.** Pitch your tent in one of Southern Maine's best kept secrets. We live in one of the areas undeveloped lands. Our property of over 20 acres is next to other undeveloped properties of over 100 acres. Our close proximity to popular tourist towns makes our location a perfect getaway in seclusion while remaining close to many attractions.  We are just starting out with Hipcamp and do not offer a power supply to your campsite, or major amenities, and we would love to have you as our guest.  If you're looking to get back to nature, but remain near a bustling city, this is the perfect location for you!

We wanted to try out a secluded spot to see how our infant did camping without public facilities due to COVID risk and this was perfect. The site was well marked and well kept. Robert and Jennifer were fast to respond to any questions and they were very welcoming. Thank you to Robert and Jennifer for their hospitality.

It was fine, really nice, good communication. The only thing is that either the owner of property or the person camping next to us (there are multiple sites, all we’re full) set off fireworks. Loud

Response from Robert and Jennifer, the Host, on July 26th, 2020

I'm so sorry this happened while you were here. Since fireworks have become legal in our town, we've been having people from the neighboring towns, where they are still illegal, come to the end of the main road that our property is off from and setting off fireworks. I thought it was our neighbors, but since my 82 year old mom, who lives at the end of our driveway, let me know it was coming from the road next to her bedroom, we have now addressed it with the Sheriff's department. This is not a common event at our property.

Swampgrass Lane was just what I was looking for, for a laid back overnight pitstop on my way home. The site was easy to find, clean, and there was plenty of dead wood available for a campfire. The site was secluded, so plenty of peace and privacy. Just beautiy. Bonus: Walking trails nearby and loads of fireflies at night!

Robert and Jennifer were amazing hosts. Quick response time, and very accommodating. I would absolutely camp here again.

I forgot to take any photos of the site, but did manage one picture of my van guarding the entrance to it.

My friend and I had a great time at Swamp Grass Lane! Robert came by to welcome us when we first arrived and then gave us plenty of privacy. The site had multiple great locations for pitching our tent, a metal firepit, stacks of firewood, and stumps to sit on. Easy access to Portland and local beaches!
