Perfect first hipcamp experience!!
The site was betterThis was my first Hipcamp experience so I didn’t have many expectations. That being said, the “Micmac” site was better than expected from the description! The site itself is in the woods with partial tree cover. Three sides are surrounded by thick woods and the fourth opens up to a beautiful field. The host’s house IS visible from positions in the site but it never distracted from the private feel. There’s another campsite across the field but you’d never know it since it’s nestled into the woods. You can hear traffic from the road even though you’re set back quite a bit, but it’s not a busy road so it wasn’t bothersome. There wasn’t a table, chairs or umbrella, as the description states, which was fine by me but if you expect those things I’d suggest just asking. Stacey was a great host – met us right away, led us to the site which was through a wooded path behind her house. She gave an excellent suggestion and directions to a lake nearby where we floated on tubes and paddled around tiny islands. We brought our tubes for floating bur Stacey does have a kayak that she offered for us to use. She also let us check out late since no one was coming in after us. It was the perfect experience and much needed private getaway! I’d definitely camp at Runaway Acres again! than expected!
Wonderful weekend experience
We had a wonderful time here! The campsite was a nicely set-up and secluded place surrounded by the forest, but not too far from the cars, making it easy to go back and forth if needed. Stacey was very welcoming and offered to help us with rain cover and water needs! Highly recommend this place!
