Beautiful views! great host!
Rod was an excellent host and the site was absolutely beautiful with panoramic views all around. He kindly suggested a nice pond to walk to. It was high on a hill so the breeze kept the black flies at bay. We had a lovely stay! There is one house in view of the site, so not as private as we were expecting, but it was far enough away that we felt like we had plenty of privacy. Overall an absolutely beautiful place to stay!
Unbelievably beautiful site
I feel like my partner and I found a gem a site. I wasn’t sure what to expect upon booking, but all my expectations were blown away. The 360 view of the mountains and Maine’s mid coast rolling landscape in the distance was incredibly breathtaking. It felt very private and the star gazing was spectacular! The host was very responsive and respectful. I can’t wait to go back!
A truly lovely stay!
We had a fantastic time camping in Rod’s blueberry field. As other reviewers have noted, the panoramic views are stunning, including the ocean in the distance, and we saw two incredible sunsets over the mountains. While there are two houses in the distance, the site still felt private and secluded. The blueberry field and stone wall is lovely, especially in the late afternoon light. If you are looking for a picturesque place to camp, this is hard to beat.
A few things to note:
- there are no toilets on site, but there are some gas stations with public restrooms within a 10 min drive.
- the site includes a nice round wooden table and four wooden chairs, and there are also 3-4 fire pits scattered around, which was nice.
- for the most part, the parts of the field that aren’t blueberry bushes are pretty rocky and uneven, but we found one good flat dirt section to pitch a tent.
We drove from the site to take the ferry out to North Haven for a bike ride, which is a great day activity.
Top of the hill!
Great spot, great view, great host! The wind kept the black flies at bay. We had a 25’ RV and drove up the grass covered drive up the hill and turned around on top without a problem. Personally if our RV was a class A or something longer I’m thinking it could start to get interesting.
360 views on your private hilltop
Don't miss out on this super epic spot close to the ocean! The owner Rod is awesome, quick to respond and helpful with any questions one may have. We had been looking everywhere for a secluded campsite near Camden (about 20 ish minute drive) and this was the perfect spot, your secluded on on a hilltop with 360 views, and blueberry bushes as far as you can see! definitely will be coming back!!
