In 1980, I was exploring the more remote Maine islands and saw a small ad in a weekly paper listing the Norris Beach Camp for sale. It was November, a tough month to fly out way offshore, but I did and have been glad since. Our family has used this place with much joy. Many children have grown up here. Countless parties, many wild and out of control, have taken place at the camp and on the beach, as well as bonfires, lobster eating, wine-drinking, and taking in the bold ocean. We had the unexpected opportunity to buy another camp closer to the beach in 1983. Our guests, over the many years, have been a source of great pleasure to us. We feel privileged to be able to offer this unusual place and try hard to attract the right type of guest who will feel comfortable on an island so far away from it all.
