Our farmhouse was built in approximately 1790 by the Stackpole family and remained in their family until around the 1950s. According to deed research this property was originally a working farm and we are very happy to bring it back to its original purpose as a farm. We farm using sustainable and organic practices with quality of our products and respect for the land being our first priority. We love history and love to teach others about the history of this region through are varied workshops (open hearth cooking, maple syrup making etc). Inside our farmhouse you will find exposed beams, much original trim, 3 working fireplaces, wide pine floors etc.

Historic 1790 Farmhouse
Great stay!
Frank and Jennifer were terrific hosts! The wing of the old farmhouse was exactly as advertised, lovely and comfortable. The grounds are really beautiful: there's an outdoor fireplace, a long trail for hiking, and tons of veggies growing. Lovely stay!

Historic 1790 Farmhouse
Farmhouse charm in a quiet setting.
We loved the place, very quiet and peaceful. The house is charming, clean and welcoming. The miscommunication was we had anticipated having some type of kitchen. Unfortunately we missed this information on the site . They had a wood fueled grill that we used and even learned that you can microwave scrambled eggs. Jen and Frank couldn’t be nicer. They were very accommodating offering help in big and small ways.

Historic 1790 Farmhouse
Quiet, comfortable, memorable.
Jen and Frank were very gracious and accommodating. Excellent tour of maple syrup house. Homemade granola and fresh blueberries included with breakfast.Quiet . Excellent wifi. Recommendations for hikes, restaurants off the beaten path sites. All rooms immaculate and very comfortable. Old home but restored to current codes for safety and comfort. We enjoyed the tools, spinning wheel and farming devices scatted inside and out. Another in a long history of enjoyable trips to Maine.

Historic 1790 Farmhouse
My family and I absolutely loved our experience at Maple Moon Farm. The farm and farmhouse were so charming and our hosts were very gracious! Our hosts went out of their way to make our time there a pleasant one and we loved getting a tour of the sugar house and farm. Our stay at the farmhouse was lovely--everything is well kept and clean. We were impressed with the character and detail put into the house. Everything is period for the farmhouse and it feels like you're stepping back in time. We loved exploring the farm and meeting the chickens as well as our host's sweet dogs. I would recommend Maple Moon Farm to anyone who wants a beautiful experience in Maine.

Historic 1790 Farmhouse
Frank was an awesome host and the property is fantastic in every way. I especially appreciated the privacy and comfort and enjoyed simply spending my time relaxing. I was lucky enough to visit while the snow was coming down and with the pellet stove turned up and a good book in hand, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. Frank was also gracious enough to give me a tour of the property. I only wish I could have been around when he was making maple syrup but it just wasn’t the right time of the year. The only downside (and I use that term lightly) is that the shower is incredibly small. But you have to understand that this building was built in the 1790’s and my size closely resembles that of a Clydesdale. I don’t hold it against them, I just couldn’t find any other downside with this property. They’ve also included the modern amenities of a mini fridge with a freezer and microwave which is a nice touch if you need those things. And I did take advantage of the breakfast items that Frank and Jenny set out for me. I can’t wait until I’m able to visit again and I highly recommend this property to anyone that’s interested.
