Enjoy a stay in our 1790’s farmhouse with many original features, situated on 120 mostly-wooded acres in southern Maine. Our homestead features a small commercial maple syrup operation including a large sugarhouse, 200 highbush blueberry plants, a large vegetable garden, berry patches, a variety of fruit trees, honeybee hives, miles of old logging roads for walks, skiing/snowshoeing, a meandering brook, patio and outdoor fireplace, free-range chickens and two large farm dogs.

The farmhouse retains many original features including wide plank floors, exposed beams, fireplace (nonoperational) with bake oven in your private living space, and much original woodwork.

Your private living space (first floor) has a pellet stove, bookshelves stocked with reading material and games, a seating area, dorm-sized refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. (*GUEST SPACE DOES NOT CONTAIN A FULL KITCHEN).  It is possible to grill on the outdoor fireplace.

**Please note that a small grassy backyard must be navigated in order to access the guest entrance, and you must climb a non-carpeted staircase (14 steps) to reach the bedrooms and bathroom located on the second floor.  If you have limited mobility or are unsteady on your feet, this  property is likely not a good fit.

The bedroom is very large and has a queen bed, large closet, dresser, luggage rack, ceiling fan, exposed beams, exposed chimney, and skylight.  The private bathroom has wainscoting, a pedestal sink, toilet and shower.

Private entrance with keys.  Our living space is completely separate so you have plenty of your own space to relax as you wish. For stays of 3 nights or more it may be possible to use our kitchen occasionally. This needs to be discussed on an individual basis and is not guaranteed.

Spend time outdoors relaxing in our gazebo, have breakfast at the patio table, and enjoy several miles of walking/skiing/snowshoeing trails.  We are ~30 minutes from the nearest beach, and one hour from the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

A simple continental style breakfast included in the cost of stay.  We require bookings to be made 24 hours in advance.

Frank was an awesome host and the property is fantastic in every way. I especially appreciated the privacy and comfort and enjoyed simply spending my time relaxing.

I was lucky enough to visit while the snow was coming down and with the pellet stove turned up and a good book in hand, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

Frank was also gracious enough to give me a tour of the property. I only wish I could have been around when he was making maple syrup but it just wasn’t the right time of the year.

The only downside (and I use that term lightly) is that the shower is incredibly small. But you have to understand that this building was built in the 1790’s and my size closely resembles that of a Clydesdale. I don’t hold it against them, I just couldn’t find any other downside with this property.

They’ve also included the modern amenities of a mini fridge with a freezer and microwave which is a nice touch if you need those things. And I did take advantage of the breakfast items that Frank and Jenny set out for me.

I can’t wait until I’m able to visit again and I highly recommend this property to anyone that’s interested.

I would've loved to see this (the sugar house) in action.Historic 1790 FarmhouseHistoric 1790 FarmhouseThough not far off the main road, this farm feels secluded and private.

My family and I absolutely loved our experience at Maple Moon Farm. The farm and farmhouse were so charming and our hosts were very gracious! Our hosts went out of their way to make our time there a pleasant one and we loved getting a tour of the sugar house and farm. Our stay at the farmhouse was lovely--everything is well kept and clean. We were impressed with the character and detail put into the house. Everything is period for the farmhouse and it feels like you're stepping back in time. We loved exploring the farm and meeting the chickens as well as our host's sweet dogs. I would recommend Maple Moon Farm to anyone who wants a beautiful experience in Maine.

Maple syrup is available for purchase in the sugar house. A 1.5 mile long hiking trail goes through the property and leads to a beautiful stream. A great place for a walk. The sugar house where the hosts make their delicious maple syrup.

Jen and Frank were very gracious and accommodating. Excellent tour of maple syrup house. Homemade granola and fresh blueberries included with breakfast.Quiet . Excellent wifi. Recommendations for hikes, restaurants off the beaten path sites. All rooms immaculate and very comfortable. Old home but restored to current codes for safety and comfort. We enjoyed the tools, spinning wheel and farming devices scatted inside and out. Another in a long history of enjoyable trips to Maine.

We loved the place, very quiet and peaceful. The house is charming, clean and welcoming. The miscommunication was we had anticipated having some type of kitchen. Unfortunately we missed this information on the site . They had a wood fueled grill that we used and even learned that you can microwave scrambled eggs. Jen and Frank couldn’t be nicer. They were very accommodating offering help in big and small ways.

Frank and Jennifer were terrific hosts! The wing of the old farmhouse was exactly as advertised, lovely and comfortable. The grounds are really beautiful: there's an outdoor fireplace, a long trail for hiking, and tons of veggies growing. Lovely stay!
