The camp site is in the feild/lawn/woods of your choosing around an old unoccupied farmhouse. The oceanfront property is off a swimmable sand beach and immediately adjacent to several miles of well maintained hiking trails on the 68-acre Frenchman Bay Taft Point Preserve Land which boasts a variety of terrains and tree species in its forests.

It is a 5 minute walk from the main house where I live and secluded and private from surrounding dwellings- no neighbors around on either side and thus peaceful tranquility dusk til dawn. During the day you will see and hear the occasional hiker pass by though it is very quiet here. From the beach are near-panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and islands, facing west for spectacular sunsets on a million dollar near panoramic view of the mountains of Acadia National Park.

You must camp *75 ABOVE the high tide line* - which you will find during daylight only where there's dried rockweed seaweed and driftwood, and where the beach is wet as tide is going out above the seagrass and marsh. You may have campfires on the beach but only *above* the high tide mark. Or use a campstove at your camp. Please google a tide calendar for high tide times. You may drive onto the beach to unload boats at your own risk (trucks, SUV & 4WD vehicles recommended). DO NOT park on the beach. Do not park on the beach overnight; you will get your vehicle stuck. The tide comes up very high.

If you have a truck, SUV, or vehicle with a high clearance you may drive down and onto the beach TO UNLOAD ONLY. Same goes for launching kayaks. Unload only at your own risk. Do not leave your vehicle on the beach.

The hidden gems you might find along the trails and in the preserve are moss covered new growth forests, berry bushes, vernal pools, old stone wells, frog ponds fountains, a "rope swing" and a geodesic dome.

During the day you may encounter other hikers on the trails on the preserves. More prevalent than hikers are deer, bald eagle, sea birds, wild turkey, friendly chipmunks, chattery red and black squirrel and the occasional porcupine. In the water are crab, sea urchin, seal, loons, ducks, schools of fish swarming and schoaling. Excellent bird watching. If you're extremely lucky you may see a moose, bobcat fox or coyote. Located ~30 minutes from the city of Ellsworth, 15 minutes from the town of Winter Harbor, 15 min from the Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National Park, and 40 minutes from Acadia on Mount Desert Island--away from the noise and crowds of the parks and large noisy campgrounds, and away from the roar and rush of the highway... but just a short drive from the area's world-class views, scenic drives, hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking and fresh water pond swimming holes and granite quarries.

Million dollar view on the beach. Beautiful, spacious, and very private. We had a wonderful time. Had a lovely little bonfire below the high tide mark and slept to the sounds of harbor seals and fish jumping around. A very peaceful spot, so make sure to be respectful of the space :) A great little getaway. Was a bit mosquito-y so bring bug spray but totally manageable! And the swimming was lovely! Highly recommend.

Lily is a super thoughtful and accommodating host. Location is perfect to enjoy the water, paddling, swimming at high tide, exploring trails, with nearby amenities. Great site. Great sunset. Bring your kayak and water shoes and mosquito net in summer.

A perfect slice of heaven

Our stay at Lily's land was nothing short perfection! We spent 4 nights at the most dreamy location. It is a little slice of heaven in a great location if you want to explore Acadia or Winter Harbor. It was exactly as described, Lily was friendly and accommodating. She gave us great recommendations and made our stay one to remember. Plenty of room to camp, many trails to hike and amazing beach to explore at all tides.

In regards to the negative review, Lily was a great communicator and is very clear on where to camp. She did everything to help make our stay perfect. Can't wait to visit again!

Campers be warned

We were excited to meet Lily and experience her "slice of heaven", which quickly turned out to be the biggest nightmare of our existence. Never mind that we were told the site would have a portapotty but upon booking we were told that it would arrive in 3 or 4 weeks. Never mind that the host is asking her guests to deposit excrements on a natural reserve. Never mind that the listing makes this location to be on a beach, when in fact no beach exists, and only a mudflap (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mudflat).

Campers be warned, the tide comes up about twice a day and swallows the entire beach camp site that we were instructed to setup at on all four sides.

In the evening Lily joined us at the fireside on the beach and saw how we were set up and where our tents were located. A few hours later, in the early hours of the morning, the tide slowly at first and then suddenly swallowed the camp site and we were surrounded by water on all four sides.

We had to move all our tents and gear to avoid them from being swallowed by the river that was taking over the area. Placing tent on top of the car, finding refuge in the vehicle was not the camping experience we were looking forward to. Our vehicle went under water and has been found a total loss, one that we had to have towed the next day at our own expense.

Campers be warned, this listing is riddled with falsehoods and unfit for camping. The host exhibits and high levels of negligence and carelessness and should be approaches with extreme caution. We are currently pursuing Lily for damages.

A few hours after the host directed us to park our vehicles here our vehicle was under water. We had to have it towed the next day and it was deemed a total loss. We are currently pursuing the host for damages. Be warned.

I really truly aim to be a great host and I love sharing my land with people who are self sufficient, appreciative and follow the rules, use common sense and heed my advice. Nav was not one of those campers. It says the listing is riddled with falsehoods and unfit for camping, but there are ACRES of land here and he chose to camp on a mudflat after our meet and greet, walk through where I pointed out so many SPECIFIC other places on the lawn/woods and beach to pitch. I don't feel I was negligent, I made a trip down after nightfall to ATTEMPT to enforce my rules regarding vehicles on the beach. Had Nav called for a tow when one vehicle got stuck before the tide came in, he would not be in this predicament but he wanted to wait until the next morning to deal with it. I get it, people are excited to drive and camp on the beach, they don't want to carry their stuff down. But only trucks or SUVS can be driven down. One of the cars was a small sedan with low clearance. Many of other things in the review are untrue. I do have a portopotty. I have instructed people never to go near the ocean or to pack out prior to the portopotty. Also untrue is that I saw where and how his campsite was set up; it was night time and I was not visiting him to to check to measure the high tide, or ensure the safety of his campsite, I was paying a friendly visit to deliver wood to him. I instructed him to move the cars, which he balked at and conveniently left out of the review. The other two motorcycles were moved, as there is ample parking up on the road and lawn. The cyclists were too inebriated to move their vehicles so I had my partner move them for them. They thanked me the next day as Nav failed to communicate my very specific documented verbal instructions not park on the beach esp overnight. I felt awful for him and tried to talk to him the next day but he waived me away, I reached out multiple times asking how things went. I don't feel morally or financially responsible. Hipcamp has backed me 100% of the way and encouraged me not to engage with Nav, yet he continues to demand money for damages. If he came to me and explained he didn't have that kind of insurance and he was suffering a huge loss, I might have offered to pay for his tow or insurance deductible as a gesture of good faith, but he's come at me demanding the total cost of the vehicle and rental and an exorbitant amount of money rather than just going through his own auto insurance or CC for the rental and at this point I feel exasperated, harassed and slandered.

My friend and I had an awesome time staying on Lily's land. The sunset from the beach is out of this world and, if the sky is clear, you can see the milky way at night. It was a peaceful and rejuvenating stay. We enjoyed exploring the flora and fauna of the property. If you're lucky you might spot the beautiful lavender thrift, a type of sea-lavender, as you're roaming the beach. Lily was an amazing host and gave great recommendations. Would 100% camp here again.
