Site is in woods/clearing of your choosing on my land, backwoods wilderness no amenity camping. The oceanfront property is off a swimmable sand beach on Frenchman's Bay and immediately adjacent to several miles of well maintained hiking trails on a quiet Nature Preserve which boasts a variety of terrains and tree species in its forests.

LEGAL: This site is not technically active as I am currently awaiting instruction from town officials. Hipcamp is purely at this pt a scheduling and informational tool. This site is preference to friends or friends of friends. If you req to book here and we know each other in real life this serves as *a scheduling & informational tool only & you will be refunded after your stay*. Nightly fee of $65/night for 2 guests and $10/additional guest is merely a suggested donation for upkeep of the land, any proceeds will help improve and maintain the campsite for further use. If you need a place to stay nearby Acadia East Schoodic Campground is $35 plus taxes a night and Mainayre is $40/night. Campsite rates are per night, for up to two adults and do not include Maine lodging tax (taxes applied during checkout).

It's pretty tranquil dusk til dawn. From the beach are views of the surrounding mountains and islands, facing west for sunset views. Great stargazing. This is not an oceanfront campsite, and I cannot allow beach fires but you can see and walk directly to the beach from your campsite.

Located ~30 minutes from the city of Ellsworth, 15 minutes from the town of Winter Harbor, 15 min from the Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National Park, and 40 minutes from Acadia on Mount Desert Island.

This is a pack-in pack-out leave-no-trace piece of land; there are no trash facilities or dumpsters, take your trash with you. A $50 cleaning fee will be charged to guests who do not clean up their site. There will be a portopotty on site. Dogs are fine on leash due to porcupine. I have outdoor cats that may sometimes roam, but they are sweethearts.

This site is rustic, to replicate a backcountry camping experience. Please keep this in mind before booking to ensure we meet you and your group's physical and aesthetic expectations. There are many other camping options that provide a more traditional experience.

There is a home and may be other campers on the large property approximately a quarter of a mile away but not within earshot or eyeshot, so you'll have some privacy and find a spot to yourself. If you car camp your site will be visible from my road. You may see the occasional passing car on the driveway. Please keep mindful quiet hours and keep merriment to a minimum 10pm-7am. Kids are a-okay, especially if they are older. If you have a young child or toddler prone to yelling, screaming or crying I urge you to reconsider your booking, as it may not be a good fit. I aim to strive for a very peaceful environment here :)

This site can be as deep into the woods as you would like. No driving onto the beach unless you're unloading canoes/kayaks. Please bring a camp stove or charcoal grill for cooking or heating food as this is preferable to a fire. You may have a fire in the designated pit, please extinguish it properly with ample seawater (5 gallon bucket provided) as we are in DROUGHT. No fires on the beach, if you desire that book one of my other sites. No picnic table or chairs, no nothing, please byo.

Upon booking this site, you confirm you and every member of your party have read, understood and will abide by all rules as stated.

Quiet site, beautiful beach sunsets

Lily's land was peaceful and gorgeous, and we really lucked out with the weather! We just wanted a nice, quiet spot to set up camp for the night before a long day at Acadia, and maybe a place where we could stargaze (and watch the Perseids meteor shower!) and sit on the beach. Lily's place checked all the boxes, and we got up the next morning to make coffee on the beach and kayak around the bay a little bit. I wish that we had gotten there a little earlier when we arrived so that we could explore the trails on the preserve, which looked really cool from what I glimpsed.

We opted to set up our tent right by the parking spot and fire pit but there were plenty of flat spots a little bit closer to the beach that would have cut down on the walk a little bit, which was still only like 2 minutes.

Lily was very helpful, answering all of my questions via text and providing local food recommendations and clear directions to the site. Would stay here again for sure, although I also would love to stay at one of her other sites on the same property (the A-frame looked so cool!) Thanks, Lily!

We were treated to a great sunset! Water in the bay was surprisingly warm for the ocean! Wading at sunset.Eating takeout on the BeachMorning kayak around the bay.

Lily’s land is beautiful. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset over Frenchman’s Bay with harbor seals barking across the water. We loved biking Schoodic Peninsula! A great adventure! Thanks Lily for sharing your beautiful spot with others.

We had such an amazing time staying on Lily’s property, that we didn’t want to leave. It was very serene and breathtakingly beautiful. Sunsets and stargazing were out of this world! The location couldn’t have been any better. Lily was a very welcoming, helpful, and responsive hostess. She continuously went out of her way to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed. Thank you, Lily, for sharing your wonderful place with us! We cannot wait to come back.

Lovely home base to explore acadia

The property is incredibly gorgeous! The main draw is the access to a secluded beach, where we enjoyed moonlit and morning walks (and a very cold dip). We found the best/flattest place to camp was not on the mulched area near the fire pit, but rather down on the path/road to the beach, on a flat portion. It was a good home base to explore Acadia (it’s about an hour drive away, but very beautiful).

Lily's land is just beautiful! The beach is spectacular and serene and we couldn't have stayed at a more ideal place. The campsite is just off the road (but it is a private road with only two houses past it and it is still very quiet). The campsite doesn't have much--only a fire bin and bucket to collect water to douse the fire. Lily was very informative and clear about what was available at the campsite and by request and sent us a doc explaining all of her land policies and courtesies expected by all campers. She was quick and responsive in messaging. Only suggestion I'd have is to put up a clothesline for hanging wet camp gear and maybe a bench for sitting. Overall, the stay was great, access to the beach was the best part!

Lily's spot was so beautiful. My partner and I arrived late at night and were able to find our spot easily - a nice (level!) mowed-out area more than big enough for our car, the tent, and our cooking set up. We got up to watch the sunrise on the beach the next morning - it was ~4 min walk down to the shore. There was definitely a lot to explore in this area, and Lily was extremely accessible and helpful in making our trip fun and easy. Great place to stay, close to Acadia, very private and beautiful.

Lovely secluded spot in a field surrounded by forest, not far from the beach. Rented a canoe from Lily for the day and it was gorgeous to paddle around the area.
