We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The field has several fire pits and soft grassy spaces for pitching tents. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

Completely enjoyed our stay at “Hole in the Wall.” Beautiful spot in the western Maine mountains! Easy to find and navigate into and out of with travel trailer. Well maintained site with multiple 110/30amp hook ups and water, and a clean outhouse. Walking distance to a very nice beach/lake, short drive to Farmington or Rangeley. Owner was very helpful with everything - even mentioned he didn't want to be “the waitress who always comes while you're eating to check on you.” He made sure we were comfy and left us to relax... which we did! Our two dogs enjoyed camping as well!

Very clean, and peaceful. Host was very nice. Will be stopping by again.

Tom was great. Met us at the campsite as we were setting up and showed us where we could find water, electricity, and firewood. There is a cute pond with lily pads and frogs. We attended a local parade in town and had a great time. It is also right down the road from the lake.
Tom was a awesome guy from what i can tell being from NH was nice to deal with a real Newenglander who had manners and was polite and friendly! Not a big place but was quite and peaceful. Would go again if om in that area . Tom thank you for the wood.

Great spot! Excellent views. We camped in our 4Runner: site 1 is perfect for that! Tom answered quickly and provided detailed instructions (we checked in late).
Our stay at the Hole in the Wall was wonderful! Tom was so gracious. He brought an abundant supply of wood which we appreciated a great deal. He offered us the use of a canoe which we used at the lake right down the road and spent hours exploring the lake and island. We were very happy to be the only ones there the privacy and views were terrific. The site was pristine, out house clean, and location to water right at site. We also explored the area we went to Coos Canyon, Rangeley, small falls, Height of the land, went looking for moose saw a very small one in the distance crossing the road. Tom gave us suggestions for restaurants and was kind enough to write out directions for our moose viewing excursion! I would highly recommend The hole in the wall! Thank you Tom for a wonderful trip. Almost forgot we went to Quill Hill beautiful views.
Nice, clean space. My site was relatively close to the outhouse which was nice, and altogether I was comfortable and felt safe!
Was truly so incredibly beautiful, would recommend. Definitely going back again. No need to bring wood if you buy a bundle beforehand, Tom brings quite a bit. Could also rent all of the sites out with your friends and have an amazing time!
Well maintained field for camping.
We stayed in the field on a site without electric/water(there is a nice site with those things). We don't mind going without for more privacy. We didn't stay long as we were passing through the area. There is an outhouse on the property, but it could use some upkeep.
The field was well maintained and there was very good firewood available. We did not take advantage of the kayaks and canoe they offer which are down at the water a short distance away. That would be a nice feature if we planned to stay longer. We would stay here again.
