We are a working small farm and homestead in Mid-Coast Maine, a half mile from the ocean. The focus here at Full Plate Farm is on raising our own food using permaculture and biodynamic principles while providing neighbors with fresh organic produce through a weekly delivery service. The Hazelbrook Cabin is as cozy as it comes with a wood burning stove, kitchenette and queen sized mattress with a loft above that sleeps a single. We welcome guests to explore the gardens, gather herbs for your morning omelette (free range, organic eggs provided) greet the goats, chickens and sheep or just put your feet up in the hammock and relax. There is a beautiful nature preserve, LaVerna within walking distance from our farm, offering picturesque bold coast trails and open ocean views with numerous picnic spots to choose from. The Pemaquid peninsula, where we call home, has many lovely hikes, coves and beaches to explore whether by foot or kayak. We are 5 minutes from The Hardy Boat that can ferry you back in time to the artist’s and birdwatcher’s haven of Monhegan Island for a fun day trip or Puffin cruise. With farmers’ markets on Mondays and Fridays for seasonal produce and 3 lobster pounds to choose from within a 5-minute drive of the cabin you could attempt at growing tired of eating Maine lobsters. Warmly, Hazel and Michael

With this cabin, it was love at first sight. When we first walked in, my guy leaned over and whispered to me, “This is how I’d decorate, if I was stylish.” Hosts Hazel and Michael are artists at heart, and it shows in the design of Hazelbrook Cabin and all the sweet little details, both inside and out. They’ve really created a magical spot here.
We had a ball exploring both the farm itself and the coastal preserve a short bike ride away. It’s pretty amazing to be on a farm in the woods, yet in such close proximity to the dramatic coastal cliffs that Maine is known for.
The farm is lush and spilling over with living things, between the gardens and the critters; it just FELT like a healthy, nurturing place to be. Both my dog and I developed a crush on Pablo the ram - what a handsome guy! Harry, one of the resident rescue pups, also stole a piece of my heart. The hosts have a great energy about them, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting at length with Hazel.
You can’t go wrong with a stay here. Plan for a few days of fantastic R&R, and be sure to give Pablo a chin scratch from me!

I planned a two night stay at Hazelbrook as a surprise birthday for my better half. Hazel was very helpful during the planning phase on what to do in the area and provided directions to make for a seamless arrival to the cabin. We arrived to fresh free range eggs and strawberries fresh from the garden. The cabin was so cozy with the best outhouse we had ever seen/used- it's so good that you get excited to go to the bathroom! Waking up to the moving light and grabbing a shower in the outdoor shower was just the refresher we needed on our getaway from the city.
We became instant friends with Hazel and Michael and enjoyed talks over some fresh spruce cocktails. Everything on the property from the restored barn and cabin, to the garden is extremely well done. Michaels attention to detail in woodwork, and Hazels attention to the garden & ingredients is tremendously respected.
If you can't tell, we highly recommend!!

Hey Shaelin. Thanks for giving us the s&v stamp of approval. You were good fun and we love it when those who visit find things to do (lobstering and fishing off of Monhegan with Jordan!) that we pass along to our guests and we want to do ourselves. The next group caught fish to cook over the fire for dinner. They were so pleased and said to say thank you for the inspiration. We would welcome you back and who knows a farm super might be the bait on the hook to get you in our woods again. Take care. Best to Vince, Hazel and Michael
Wow! We had the best three days with Hazel and her partner. First of all, the cabin is amazing. Everything is beautifully curated and designed. The kitchen was perfect and great for all of our meals. The bed was so comfortable and the facilities outside were also amazing.
Second, the amount of outdoor activities that you can do in the area will fill your time, no matter the length of your stay. However, if it had rained all weekend and we had sat indoors and read, it could have still been an amazing weekend because the cabin was so enjoyable
Third, Hazel and her partner are the most accommodating and hospitable people ever. We had great conversations with them learning about the area and the farm, and they also gave us amazing recommendations for the area.
10/10 you should stay here!

Weston, Thank you for your kind review and stay here at FPF. We really enjoyed getting to know you both and would look forward to having you back in a heartbeat. Our best to Zoe. H&M and all the pups.
We had an amazing stay at Hazel and Michael’s cabin. They have put so much creative thought into their building. Nestled inside it’s rustic, yet beautifully handcrafted structure was an assortment of antiques, books, artwork and other items that made you feel cozy and instantly at home - beautifully composed. Perfect mix of “camping” with an outdoor shower, fire pit and outhouse (cleanest most scent free outhouse I’ve been in) with luxurious touches such as the high quality bedding, fresh flowers in vases on the table and outhouse, amazing eggs and plums from on-site, wool hide chair covers for outdoor chairs and even a s’more kit! No detail had been overlooked and the quality and authenticity of everything around you reflected the character of our two lovely hosts whose talents are evident around every corner of the property, from the structures they have built to the gardens that they tend, they are true artists. Our only regret was that we only stayed for two nights. Between the accommodation and all of the things to see and do nearby we would love to come back for a week next time.

what an eloquent review Jackie. Thank you so much. Would love to see you back here and continue to learn about New Zealand. You have me dreaming of the land. Best to you, Hazel
This was by far the best accommodation on my road trip through NY State, Vermont and Maine. The cabin is a work of art and Hazel and Michael have thought of everything. The free range eggs, coffee and plums from their garden were a lovely welcome treat.
The kitchen area has everything you need. We stayed two nights and would have happily stayed for a week!!
Beds were comfy with super lovely linens. I really enjoyed the outhouse, outdoor shower and wash up area and the fire pit. I didn’t have time to laze in the hammock . . I guess I’ll just have to make another trip :)

Thank you Lyn for the sweet review. Really loved speaking with you about your allotment and growing season in Cornwall. Say hello to Jackie. Best, Hazel
What a find!
Our stay at HazelBrook was just wonderful, and more than we could have hoped for.
The cabin itself is cozy and very clean. Bed is very comfortable. Lots of little details made it special - the craftsmanship of the cabin itself, unique art, S’Mores kit on the shelf, perfect little propane stove for cooking. Hazel also left us a dozen eggs from her chickens and fresh ground coffee to enjoy in the morning. Such a treat! Then to top it off, she made my husband a sweet chocolate cake for his birthday (which we were there celebrating!).
There is electricity in the cabin, and running water in a dry sink outside. So convenient! They also have a set-up for a solar shower. Outhouse is as adorable as the cabin itself.
We really enjoyed getting to know our hosts, and exploring their farm.
The location was great - a 5 min walk to the water. You can also hike to the nature persevere La Verna from the property - the trails included some breathtaking views along the shore. We enjoyed local lobster from just a couple of miles down the road, checked out OxBow Brewing (~25 minute drive), and really appreciated the convenience of the Rising Tide Co-Op for provisions.
Chrissy’s in Damariscotta was a great breakfast recommendation, absolutely worth checking out.
Highly recommend this little getaway!

Tara, you and Nick and pups were a lovely way to be introduced into the world of HipCamp and having guests on our farm. We feel bolstered and grateful at how seemless your presence was. Thank you for coming to the coast and staying with us. If we are ever near Southern Vermont expect a knock.
Tidy and cozy cabin tucked aside a cute farm and veggie garden. Our experience seemed quite quiet although our hosts warned us if early morning rooster calls. Hazel and Mike were very welcoming, attended any question about the local area and our comfort. Enjoyed meeting the friendly goats, hens and pigs and the beautiful permaculture vegetable and herb patches. We even explored the nearby towns, Rockport and Camden are the favorites for great coffee, music and sunset sails, and as well as Acadia Natl Park and upscale restaurants in Portland. Beautiful coast, area and welcoming home!

Hey Caleb, thank you for the lovely review. You two packed Maine into your visit. Hope you return and we can have a proper visit when we aren’t straight out with Farm and travel of our own. I love that you slept so well. Best to you and Larissa. H
Hazels' farm is one of the most beautiful, diverse farms I've ever stayed at. The cabin itself was so beautiful, clean and it was very obvious how mindful Hazel was at making sure her guests have everything they need to enjoy their time. There is a fire pit, smore kit, books on books, beautiful animals and an outhouse that is cleaner/decorated better than mine at home. From Hazels you can go to a Round Pond for lobster (5 min drive) or Damariscotta (25 min drive) where you can sit on the water, have a beer eat oysters and listen to live music. There's also a country store in Damariscotta worth checking out.
Highly recommend Hazels, would happily go back!

Hi Brittany. It was a pleasure hosting you and Sieva. I love that you enjoyed yourselves and got out and about on some adventures and that you really connected with our state. Thanks for staying with us and please come back and say hi if you’re in Maine. My Best. Hazel
Rustic yet refined... This is a beautiful little timber framed cabin on an amazing small farm. We enjoyed rolling over on the firm and comfortable bed each morning to view the sheep grazing in the pasture. The cabin is thoughtfully decorated and super cozy. Even the outhouse is not run-of-the-mill with it's decor and craftsmanship.
Hazel and Michael are both great hosts...available and conversant yet respectful of their guests' privacy. They both answered all of our questions and gave us a quick tour of their farm which provides a beautiful setting for the cabin.
If you're looking for "glamping" within close reach of the Maine coast, this is the place!

You both were a delight. Thank you for staying with us and enjoying our farm, animals and area activities. Come back and visit even if it is to just pop in and say hello. Best, Hazel

Hi Kim. Thanks for coming to Maine and our little corner of bliss. We loved looking through your pictures and seeing all our animals through your eye. Pablo sends his regards. I really enjoyed our garden chats. Please come back anytime. Best, Hazel and Michael
