Relaxing weekend away on the lake
Perfect weekend! We arrived Friday night after work and were greeted by David. He let us set up camp right on the water. The fire pit was perfect, and there was a picnic table as well. We parked across the street from the water, in the grassy driveway, which led up to an outhouse.
It was amazing to wake up in a shaded area, which gets sun later in the day. He also has stand up paddle boards he let us use, which we enjoyed about 90% of our stay. The water was amazing, and David was extremely friendly, and available if/when we needed him. It’s great to have privacy, but to also know that he was around in case. We will definitely be back before the summer is over.
An amazing time
Staying here was an amazing experience! The views of the lake in the morning and the night was awesome. The parking was a little confusing but we eventually figured it out (Its a grassy driveway to the left of the trees when facing it). The property was a little secluded the neighbors were nearby but we all kept to ourselves. The lake was gorgeous and wonderful to swim in. The fire pit was awesome and he even had wood that we could use (if it has rained recently I would suggest bringing some of your own since it isn't covered). 10/10 would recommend and would love to go back!
Lively spot by the lake
This is a great spot by the lake! Don’t expect to be the only people around, this is a neighborhood road with lots of houses around the lake. But this makes sense for New England lakes! The help from the host was great, and he answered any questions we had quickly! We asked to camp in the clearing by the lake, and that was really nice. There is a great fire pit, and the host even let us use his paddle boards! Thanks David!
Wonderful stay in turner, me
Wow! This trip was everything we had been looking for after many months stuck at home. The site was exactly as described. The lake is stunning and the paddle boards were such a treat! Fire pit was great at night and for cooking dinners over. The outhouse is set a ways back so bring some flashlights if nature calls after dusk. Overall, a great experience, thanks again, David!
Nice spot on a small maine lake.
Host, David, was very friendly, personable, and accommodating. Site is in a wonderful spot on a smallish lake. Lake is big enough for kayaking, swimming, etc. There were are a few powerboats on the lake, but limited (two or 3) so there are not constant boaters going by. Outhouse is a little hike away from the site, but was clean and as fresh smelling as can reasonably be expected. Water shoes/water socks are recommended as there are some rocks getting into the water. The site is close to a road, but traffic was fairly limited, and it makes unloading gear easy. Not a really a secluded camping spot if that’s what you are looking for. Good Basecamp for heading out for activities. Easy drive to supermarkets.
Absolutely beautiful water front
Absolutely beautiful tent site on a very quiet pond. Spent 2 nights here and will definitely be going back! Site has a great fire pit, a picnic table (that does need to be replaced) and the owner provides 2 awesome paddle boards.
Beautiful waterfront campsite
My partner and I enjoyed our one night stay. David was very accommodating and flexible, as we had originally booked the site for 5 people and last minute had to change that to just the two of us. He was very gracious and allowed us use of his two paddle boards, which was a wonderful addition to our stay as my partner had never used one before.
I read other reviews so we were able to locate the grassy driveway without issue (thanks to the addition of the red marker).
I brought my dog with us and while the accommodation allows for off-leash pets, I would hesitate unless your dog is under excellent verbal control. The site was private enough for us, but there was enough foot and vehicle traffic on the road for me not to want to let my pup off leash, which I normally wouldn't anyway. The site was very clean and the firepit was well built and a nice touch.
The pond was beautiful and warm!
My only note would be the outhouse: I had trouble finding a clear path up to the outhouse, I'm not sure if branches had fallen recently, but it was a little difficult to navigate, even with a headlamp, in the dark and the small plank bridge on the way up was a little precarious. Otherwise, it was clean and toilet paper was provided.
I'm glad that we ended up downsizing the number of occupants to this site because while it probably could accommodate five people, that size group may have been a little loud for the area. It was very quiet (which we loved) but there are houses close by. Voices travel VERY easily over the pond and we could easily hear people at surrounding camps and ones across the pond.
The location is great, we were able to pick up food at the local grocery store on our way in (maybe 10 minutes away) and there were a variety of other options for food nearby.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would definely recommend this site to friends and family in the future. Thank you, David!
We absolutely loved our stay at David’s property. He owns 2 lots on the pond and we were able to set up our rooftop tent in the wooded lot. There is a quiet road that separates the wooded area and the lake front area which didn’t bother us at all. If you have a ground tent you can set it up right on the lake front (plenty of space). David was awesome, very friendly and welcoming. The outhouse was clean honestly fine for what we needed. We do a lot of primitive camping so we are grateful to just have an outhouse. Awesome stay. The lot of land is a western facing lot so the sunsets were magical. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
