Camp Satyagraha is dedicated to spiritual practices and physical growing and building and learning. We are alcohol free, violence free, 420 friendly, psychedelic friendly, vegetarian, and ask for the practice of celibacy to be observed by those outside of preexisting committed relationships. Celibacy is asked for at camp, and for duration of residence at camp, in order to make it a safe place for spiritual growth, healing, and higher spiritual attainments. If the idea of being somewhere without alcohol or meat or gratuitous sexual "hookups" sounds foreboding to you, we are probably not the right place. Emphasis: we don't ask for celibacy from couples... just those who come unattached. It was hard to make this intention public; as we took a lot of heat for just saying no to alcohol and meat. But after consultation, particularly with female spiritual advisors... it was agreed that celibacy (during residence, and on Camp-related sojourns, was for the best.). We don't advocate or demand life-long celibacy.. It is just a practical matter of community and intention. Don't mean to dwell on it, but like to make things clear... so there are no hurt feelings, or misunderstandings....
