Boondocking (no running water) is fun in my 33' vintage Terry Manor in a 3-acre country field. Do you want a quiet but affordable getaway in the country where you can hear the crickets and see the stars? Look no further! I have a beautiful, sunny and private field off a dirt road in Lincolnville, Maine. Martin Corner Road is closed to "thru" traffic and narrows into a pleasant hiking trail that leads to Moody Pond (about a 15 minute hike). Norton Pond is at the other end of the road.

The space

The camper is hooked up to electricity and propane but does not have running water. I will provide jugs of water but the faucets do not work; you have to use a separate composting toilet in the shed, though you can use the toilet inside the camper for liquid waste (please put toilet paper in the garbage bag and not in the toilet). Though the camper does not have running water it has a lot of nice features for the price. Inside the camper are certain amenities like a propane cook stove, toaster, coffee maker (with coffee), nice-sized fridge / freezer, radio, air conditioner / heater, plenty of storage, queen-sized bed, two pull-out spare beds, sunshine and a lot of room. Outside amenities include a mountain view, privacy, songbirds, dining area, fire pit, portable grill, hanging swing and proximity to Camden or Belfast (fifteen minutes of driving to either community). This is a truly great location to unplug and unwind but should you want to use your devices I have received excellent service here on mine and have even been able to stream videos with my portable "hot spot". You may already know of the wonderful eating and shopping to be had in Rockland, Camden and Belfast. This field, though private and remote, is also very close to those popular destinations. The camper is on a dirt road closed to "thru" traffic and if you go past the "closed" sign the road turns into a trail and it is about a fifteen-minute walk to Moody Pond by foot (and this would also be nice by bike). The end of Martin Corner Road is very near Norton Pond and about half a mile away is the "Narrows" for kayaking, canoeing or just hiking around and enjoying nature. The fishing is excellent at the "Narrows" if you like that sort of thing. There is a corner store nearby called Drake's where you should be able to find anything you need and (opening soon) is the Central General Store. People also love hiking the power lines that pass through the bottom of the field; they take you through blueberry patches and past old stone walls. I have also seen wildlife such as porcupines, deer, bears and pheasants on the property.

Guest access

The whole entire space (inside and outside) is yours to enjoy during your stay.

Interaction with guests

I will have the space clean and ready for you. The queen-sized bed in the bedroom will have fresh sheets on it. The camper will be unlocked and the key will be on the counter inside. Though I will not personally be there to check you in I am accessible through AirBnB messaging, text or phone if you have any questions.

Other things to note

This is just another reminder that there is no running water in the camper but there is a composting toilet in the shed.

This is a great spot to get away from it all and enjoy the quiet. While being remote, it’s also a short drive away from the town of Camden and Camden Hills State Park. Though we actually enjoyed most just staying around the area. The camper itself met all our needs and felt extremely homey to us. It was very clean, neat, and beyond cozy. If we could have, we probably would have stayed a little longer. Kristy is great. Though we didn’t meet, she provided very helpful directions and made sure we were comfortable. She definitely cares about providing a good experience. We hope to come back.
