Get back to the basics with our primitive camping sites! We'll provide a beautiful cleared area within sight of the oceanfront, and you bring the rest! Our campground has 4 campsites, each separated by 75 - 200 ft and all the natural barriers created by trees and berms. Each site has spaces for a tent or two, and there's an abundance of trees to string up hammocks. The waterfront is just a stone's throw away, and each site has a footpath leading to an overlook or the water's edge where you can walk down to enjoy the glorious sunsets over Breman Island.
A little more about each site...
Site 1: "Schooner" Tucked in next to a berm, site 1 or "Schooner", boasts some of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. With a footpath that leads to a small pebble beach, this site is excellent for those with kayaks or paddle boards.*
Site 2: "Dory" If you'd like that extra level of privacy and solitude, Dory is the site for you! As the last site on the row, it's about 200ft from the next nearest site and nestled next to a large rock outcropping. This site has enough room for two three-person tents and plenty of trees to string hammocks. While this site comes with a beautiful overlook of the waterfront, it does not have direct access to the water. For those bringing kayaks or paddle boards, you may want to consider one of our other 3 sites.
Site 3: "Sloop" Wake up to the fresh scent of evergreens in our smallest and most intimate site that is tucked into a dense grove of pine saplings. A footpath leads down to a pebble beach where you can explore the water and the rocks.* Please note, this site is a single-tent campsite.
Site 4: "Brigandine" One of our two larger sites, Site 4 features private access to a small pebble beach perfect for launching kayaks and other watercrafts.
Bathroom Facilities:
There is a porta potty in the parking area that is shared by the campsites. It is serviced weekly and supplied with hand sanitizer inside, but we STRONGLY recommend using gloves and masks when you use this shared facility to reduce exposure. You must bring your own gloves and masks.
Boat Launch Options:
Want to bring your kayak or paddle board? You've got a few options for getting them in the water. Three of our four sites have direct access to the water, there is a small boat access area on the campground, and there's a public boat ramp in Hatchet Cove 5 minutes from the campground.

*Site 1 and Site 3 are adjacent and share water access.
**Please note, Hipcamp is set up in such a way that you will need to go through the booking process separately for each site you would like to book. So if you would like to book 2 sites, you'll have to go through 2 transactions.

This site far exceeded our expectations. The operators are passionate about the outdoors and have succeeded in providing a site according to their expectations. While the sites are a short walk from the parking area, it’s the closest you’re going to get to a primitive backpacking experience.
The oceanfront views are spectacular. Site 1 had water access so we took out our kayak. If you’re uncomfortable in the outdoors this is probably not the site for you but if you want seclusion and immersion into an untouched wilderness, this is the place!

Secluded camp site with a magnificent view! Cheerful, accommodating and helpful host. Recommend a visit!
Stayed at Site 2 over Labor Day weekend and it was everything I expected (i.e. beautiful, secluded but not too far from parking). The overlook is accessible to the northeast and worth the views. The Jameson Point Lobster restaurant nearby (5-10min drive) is also worth a visit. Will definitely visit this campsite again!

Annie was a wonderful host. She communicated very well and provided very clear and detailed instructions on how to arrive at the site. The site had a beautiful view of the water through the trees. There were 3 other campsites nearby, however, you could not see the other sites from where we were so it was very private. It was a perfect get away weekend in the woods!
We fully enjoyed our night stay at Site #1! Annie's instructions to get to the site were super helpful and accurate. We brought our tent set up and kayak. The sight was clean when we arrived and it was a cute spot tucked in among some pine trees with a little path down to the water. We took the kayak out during the sunset and enjoyed the view!
We loved that there were only four sites here and you weren't surround by a lot of people. You can hear some of the other campers from time to time, but it didn't bother us one bit! You can also hear the sounds of the lobster and fishing boats in the morning, and growing up around that, we are used to it.
Tip: Make sure you have your bug spray if you go during a buggy season.
We look forward to booking with Annie again!
What the site lacks in amenities, it makes up for in views and serenity. The transition from coastal forest to rocky shoreline was a stunner. And if you’re on the fence about whether to bring your kayaks or keep them at home, don’t be. The views from the bay are not to be missed.
