Acadia East Campground is a backcountry-style wilderness campground located 10 minutes from Acadia National Park's Schoodic District. The campground has 5 campsites, a vaulted privy, wooded trails, a gravel parking area, and regional information board.

The Acadia Mtn Site is named after one of Acadia's most iconic peaks. The site is ideal for 1-2 tents, but is large enough to accommodate 4 tents and up to 12 guests. The site is about 300 feet up the trail from the parking area and clearly marked with a campsite sign. This site offers the best night sky viewing on the campground. While most of our campsites are located in the Cedar tree grove, the Acadia Mtn site is located at the edge of the cedar and hemlock groves, giving a slightly different feel than the rest of the campground.

Very quiet and well kept campsite. I appreciated the reflective arrow markers when getting back to the site in the dark with headlamp. Lots of good wildlife noises and well isolated, though not too rough of a hike in from the well marked parking area. Appreciated the outhouse with lighting, toilet paper holder and hand sanitizer provided.

This site was great. Secluded and private with well marked campsites. About 30-40 minutes from Acadia. It was really a great site. Would highly recommend.
