We have a small organic garden, and our land is 10 acres of pasture, with a few patches of trees. It is very private in a secluded horse farm neighborhood, on a very quiet, dead-end street that does not get much traffic. At night you can see all the stars as there is no light pollution. During the summer months the frogs, crickets, and light bugs are beautiful! We are only an hour north of New Orleans! If you are looking for hiking, tubing, swimming, biking, fishing or disc golf, Bogue Chitto State park is only 10 miles away. I wouldn’t recommend tent camping in Louisiana in the middle of July but we will definitely tent camp here in the fall. We ended up upgrading to their suite for rent because it was so hot. I really appreciate people like the owner who open up their homes for people to experience things they wouldn’t normally. I’m on a single mom budget and since I can’t afford a big vacation I’ve been trying to take my daughter on little weekend trips. My 6 year old had a blast with all the animals. The owner is a really good teacher - we did the tour of the farm - my kid absolutely fell in love with the pig, Millie. They had a zip line, several swings. My daughter didn’t want to leave. The state park is not far and we spent Saturday swimming in the river. I highly recommend either tent camping or renting their room.

Host was very welcoming and kind. The property is very beautiful, large and secluded. The stars at night are amazing. The sound of the animals and general atmosphere of the farm was charming and incredibly peaceful. We stayed here 4 nights and visited the city of New Orleans in the meantime. It was a great base of operations for visiting the city as it is only 1 hour north fo New Orleans. The small town of Folsom is just down the road and has great cheap discount grocery stores and lovely coffee shops. We could not have asked for a better stay at the Bellweather farmstead.
Nice people. Welcoming. Generous. Accomodating. Peaceful ambiance. Animals were cute and loveable. Area is lovely. Local stores are well run. 10 outta 10
The Bellwether Farmstead was ideally located in a beautiful rural area. The farm was charming with a variety of farm animals. The highlight was seeing the baby goats. A clean compost toilet and water was near our campsite. We would definatley stay there again in the future if we are traveling through the area.
We had a great time at Bellweather homestead! The hosts have done a really nice job setting up campsites throughout the property, they’re not secluded but they are private. The hosts had lots of thoughtful touches like swings and stumps around the fire rings. They even put out some incredibly comfortable chairs for us. Our kids were in heaven feeding banana peels and watermelon rinds to the pig and petting the goats and playing on the swing. About 20 minutes drive to the beach at bogue chitto state park. We loved this site and were so grateful to the very warm hospitality from Sharessa and her family! We hope to come back again this summer.
beautiful spot in horse country and plenty of other animals to welcome you. would recommend getting street directions from sharessa before setting out as it can be a bit hard to locate.

The best hipcamp site you will find
Sharessa was beyond nice! We booked the wrong day and she was very nice about it! My battery car died and she helped us right away! on top of all our inconveniences she offered us to use her Pool. The place is very nice, like a dreamy farm. Very clean and private. Her dogs were super friendly and she kept asking if we prefer to have them away but we loved them. If we have the chance we will be back!!! Is a no brainer, they are quality people who own a beautiful place and luckily don’t charge what they should, I would totally pay even if they double their price. Amazing!!!
