Ridgeline With My Tent

I stayed at the Ridgeline spot with just my tent, and I didn't want to leave!! I am grateful to have had the opportunity to use Heather's land as a way to restore, reset, and find peace. Having the covered pergola, firewood, a table, outhouse, and lots of chairs was such a huge upgrade to have as someone who loves to tent. I went out everyday to do a hike/ bike and it was fun to choose either the Adirondack area or the Green Mountain area as options. I also loved bumping into Heather from time to time and seeing what she harvested for the day. She was so kind, and the land is so well taken care of. I hope to be back :-)

Absolutely stunning views and a pristine campsite made for a peaceful, relaxing weekend. Oak Tree is a beautiful open field with plenty of space for a pup to run to their heart’s content. Firewood at the site and a clean, well kept outhouse tucked away in the corner so it’s not right in the middle of your site. Heather was incredibly welcoming and responsive. I can’t wait to visit again!

If you’ve found this spot & you’re thinking it looks great, you’re almost right, but I guarantee you it’s even better than you can imagine. From the typography of the land, to the casual but kind hosts, you will enjoy every second of being there. The only thing you should be worried about is if your dates are available. Photos don’t do it justice which in my opinion is always a good thing. Thank you for sharing your special spot Heather 💚

Everything was stunning and the hosts were so helpful! I had a few questions on check-in and they got me sorted out right away. The place was absolutely stunning, wayyy bigger than I had anticipated. The views and trails were lovely - I’ve already told so many people how great it was.

Beautiful campsite, plenty of space and views. Swimming in the quarry was great, and the fresh food availible for purchase at the farmhouse was delicious. I had some car troubles and Heather and Paul did not hesitate to help me out with it, they are good hospitable people🙏

Amazing site and hospitality

Slateville couldn’t have been better for our group of 12. The owner, Heather, gave us all a clear and concise overview of everything upon arrival, and greeted us with great kindness. When we got there, one of our friend’s cars was damaged and her husband helped repair it enough so that it could drive home - saving us a huge tow bill as we were coming from southeastern PA. They even gave us a loaner car to use during our stay. The site was secluded with a beautiful view, and even with a large group there was beyond enough space to pitch tents, run around and play football/frisbee, play guitars, etc. Even came with pre-stocked firewood and a new outhouse. Beyond that, being able to cool off from the sun at the quarry was awesome, goldfinches are everywhere, and the highland cows are a pleasure to watch. There was also always fresh produce available to buy at the entrance, saving us a couple of trips to grocery stores. We all definitely recommend this site to anyone visiting the ADK region, especially larger groups.

What a fantastic place! We stayed at Ridgeline for two nights and liked it so much that we changed our return plans and stayed at Oak Tree on the way home. Everything is wonderful-- Heather was super easy to communicate with and was so helpful. The veggies and jams were delicious as well. The sites were amazing- so private and open. My daughter loved the Highland cows and we all enjoyed the quarry. Highly recommend this amazing spot.

The Best

What a trip. The Pines was a fantastic campsite, secluded and tucked away in the forest- yet still offering decent enough cell service for me to get some work done when I needed to. The forest road definitely requires some sort of SUV- my Mazda CX5 did just fine though YMMV depending on if it rains etc. The trees provided just enough cover so that when it did rain during my trip, I wasn’t completely washed out and could still enjoy myself. I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend and Heather made sure to create a place where someone can get out and enjoy the wilderness without worry. She has a small space set aside at the farmhouse with fresh veggies from her garden and camping supplies for purchase which helped a lot. Fresh spring water, flush toilet, a shower, free wood for campfire?? What more can you ask for to have a seamless, perfect camping trip. Will definitely return.

We had such a great time camping at the Ridgeline site. The views were stunning, we had so much space, our dogs could run free, and the pergola was a great feature. Heather was a great host! Super friendly, responsive to questions, and had great recommendations for other local farm stores. The quarry was so cool!! We loved that there were tubes and other items to play in the water. And some fun spots to jump in. We would absolutely stay again and have already talked about our next visit!

Staying on Heather’s land at Slateville was such an amazing experience that my friends and I got to share. The drive over is beautiful and scenic with farms upon farms rolling past you. Heather was an amazing host and more than accommodating, the farm shop and extra camping gear she provided was super helpful. When we arrived she lead us to our site through her land, the drive up the hill was exhilarating, you could see everything from up there. The site itself was breath taking, we were fully secluded and rarely ran into any other campers. The quarry site is spacious and everything is provided. My group and I were blown away and had the most wonderful stay. Would go again, Homies trip 2027

Awesome 4th of July at Ridgeview

Camping at the Ridgeline site, Slateville Farm was an absolutely incredible experience. We feel so lucky for such a wonderful stay and being able to include our pup too. We camped in our tent and enjoyed the pergola and fire pit on the site. The hosts, Heather, Paul and Peter could not have been more hospitable, welcoming and kind. Heather was extremely friendly and communicative the entire stay. The hosts even came to our rescue after we accidentally locked our key in our car. We enjoyed every minute of our time here. Kayaking at the quarry, visiting the highland cows, a gorgeous sunset and view. It was truly a magical place and experience from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left. We cannot wait to bring our friends in the fall. The feeling of gratitude has lasted long beyond our departure. The view, quarry, history, uniqueness of the property, and the amazing hosts were so far beyond our expectations. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. If you're on the fence booking... You will not regret this.

The best private campsite I have ever visited. This is a labor of love, the whole property has been impeccably designed giving a unique experience to every location. This is located in a farmland valley with beautiful vistas of meadows and open sky. We stayed at Pines which was such an interesting experience, located real remote. Even the driveway to reach there is a trip in itself. Heather is a super attentive and sweet host who goes out her way to make sure you are taken care of well. There is a hot shower, water and Wifi at the farm entrance plus all essentials stocked in case you forget anything. Unlimited wood. What else do you need?? If you are a fan of private sites, this one will exceed your expectations.

Went tent camping at the Oak Tree site. Wow what a beautiful site and such a unique complex! We some animals, visited the quarry. Very fun! Heather was such a kind and down to earth host. She was very welcoming, informative, and accomidating. Will definitely visit again!

We are so glad we stayed at this hipcamp; the HOPS site was great! Heather was a fantastic host! We arrived later in the day with limited sunlight remaining; she guided us right to the site so we could start getting our camper set up before dark. The pride of ownership and genuine want to provide the best experience is abundantly obvious while experiencing the property. We are so thankful for having the chance to stay. My kids enjoyed fishing in the cow pond, the quarry is a very cool space, and there was so much more of the property we ran out of time to check out.

What an awesome location! Heather was a great host and had everything ready to go when I arrived. Everything was well prepared, easy to find, and made for a relaxing stay. The campsite itself is beautiful, with peaceful surroundings, plenty of trails and walking paths to explore, and a stunning view of the night sky. The outhouse and shower were also fantastic—clean, well-maintained, and easy to access. What I liked most was how peaceful the whole property felt. It's the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy the surroundings, and forget about your schedule for a while. The whole property felt peaceful and welcoming, with plenty of space to wander and enjoy the scenery. This was easily one of my favorite places I've stayed. I'd happily come back and would recommend it to anyone passing through the area looking for a quiet, beautiful place to camp.

Don’t Hesitate - Just Book It ✨

We loveddddd camping here! We previously camped at the Oak Tree site (which we also LOVE), and decided to try the Quarry site. What a treat! From Heather’s incredibly kind, accommodating hosting and fantastic communication, to the stocked wood shed, farm stand, camper borrowing system (we forgot skewers), creative outhouse (obsessed), quarry swimming and the most beautiful sites and sounds - we can’t wait to come back! 1,000% recommend! The 2 sites we booked so far had completely different vibes, but each are a 15/10 in our books! Can’t go wrong 🏕️

Ridgeline was an amazing site. We were there midweek and nobody was at the surrounding sites but it seems like there would have been plenty of privacy even if the neighboring sites were booked. The sunset alone at ridgeline would make us happy to come back. Grateful for the shade structure at the site as we had both sunny/hot days and some rainstorms. Also, the water pressure was great at the outdoor shower (shared and located at the main house). All in all, wonderful stay and we will be back!

Gorgeous gorgeous views from the moment you drive onto the farm and all throughout. Heather was super accommodating and helpful through our stay. Eggs and last minute essentials were available. We stayed during a time with mixed weather - sunny and rainy. The Ridgeline is open and lined with trees. Thankful for the pergola at the site as it can get hot. There was a night with strong winds and recommend setting up larger tents by the trees on the angle because our 12 person tent could not hold up on the flat of the ridge. Our group really enjoyed our stay. The toddlers and dogs had the time of their lives!

Quintessential Quarry ✨

We were so impressed with Heather’s gorgeous land and all they have cultivated there. Fascinating history in the area surrounding with slate quarries. Campsite was well maintained; everything we needed and more! Heather was so welcoming and generous. I added local steaks as an extra and she went out of her way to hook it up. 10/10 would recommend and we would love to stay again!
