Went tent camping at the Oak Tree site. Wow what a beautiful site and such a unique complex! We some animals, visited the quarry. Very fun! Heather was such a kind and down to earth host. She was very welcoming, informative, and accomidating. Will definitely visit again!

What a beautiful, thoughtful place!

We are so glad we stayed at this hipcamp; the HOPS site was great! Heather was a fantastic host! We arrived later in the day with limited sunlight remaining; she guided us right to the site so we could start getting our camper set up before dark. The pride of ownership and genuine want to provide the best experience is abundantly obvious while experiencing the property. We are so thankful for having the chance to stay. My kids enjoyed fishing in the cow pond, the quarry is a very cool space, and there was so much more of the property we ran out of time to check out.

What an awesome location! Heather was a great host and had everything ready to go when I arrived. Everything was well prepared, easy to find, and made for a relaxing stay. The campsite itself is beautiful, with peaceful surroundings, plenty of trails and walking paths to explore, and a stunning view of the night sky. The outhouse and shower were also fantastic—clean, well-maintained, and easy to access. What I liked most was how peaceful the whole property felt. It's the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy the surroundings, and forget about your schedule for a while. The whole property felt peaceful and welcoming, with plenty of space to wander and enjoy the scenery. This was easily one of my favorite places I've stayed. I'd happily come back and would recommend it to anyone passing through the area looking for a quiet, beautiful place to camp.

Don’t Hesitate - Just Book It ✨

We loveddddd camping here! We previously camped at the Oak Tree site (which we also LOVE), and decided to try the Quarry site. What a treat! From Heather’s incredibly kind, accommodating hosting and fantastic communication, to the stocked wood shed, farm stand, camper borrowing system (we forgot skewers), creative outhouse (obsessed), quarry swimming and the most beautiful sites and sounds - we can’t wait to come back! 1,000% recommend! The 2 sites we booked so far had completely different vibes, but each are a 15/10 in our books! Can’t go wrong 🏕️

Ridgeline was an amazing site. We were there midweek and nobody was at the surrounding sites but it seems like there would have been plenty of privacy even if the neighboring sites were booked. The sunset alone at ridgeline would make us happy to come back. Grateful for the shade structure at the site as we had both sunny/hot days and some rainstorms. Also, the water pressure was great at the outdoor shower (shared and located at the main house). All in all, wonderful stay and we will be back!

Gorgeous gorgeous views from the moment you drive onto the farm and all throughout. Heather was super accommodating and helpful through our stay. Eggs and last minute essentials were available. We stayed during a time with mixed weather - sunny and rainy. The Ridgeline is open and lined with trees. Thankful for the pergola at the site as it can get hot. There was a night with strong winds and recommend setting up larger tents by the trees on the angle because our 12 person tent could not hold up on the flat of the ridge. Our group really enjoyed our stay. The toddlers and dogs had the time of their lives!

Quintessential Quarry ✨

We were so impressed with Heather’s gorgeous land and all they have cultivated there. Fascinating history in the area surrounding with slate quarries. Campsite was well maintained; everything we needed and more! Heather was so welcoming and generous. I added local steaks as an extra and she went out of her way to hook it up. 10/10 would recommend and we would love to stay again!

Best campsite!

Heather is the best! This was our second time staying here with a group of friends and we all absolutely loved the campsite. The area is beautiful, peaceful, and so private — it really felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was actually some of my friends’ first time camping and they all had an amazing experience and are already talking about coming back. Heather was incredibly accommodating and even had an extra canopy available for us to rent, which was super helpful for our group setup. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and making sure everyone has a great experience. We’ll definitely be back again and highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway!

Always a perfect spot, rain or shine! I try to camp here at least a few times a year, and this visit had a new addition! A little covered hut for firewood that was already stocked! Thank goodness, because it was a chilly weekend out there, really saved us :) Thank you again, Heather!

Beautiful, private , well maintained site with incredible views. Just the stop we needed as we headed towards Canada for our Overlanding trip in Newfoundland. Heather was responsive, efficient and accommodating. We will be coming back when we return in a couple of months on our way back home to Georgia. I can’t recommend this beautiful place enough. We feel totally rejuvenated.

We had a great stay at this campsite in New York. The farm was absolutely beautiful and made for a peaceful, relaxing setting. Our site had everything we could have asked for and was well set up for a comfortable stay. Heather, the host, was very nice, welcoming, and informative throughout our visit. She made sure we had everything we needed and shared helpful information about the property and area. We would definitely stay here again.

The whole property was extremely beautiful. Our site by the quarry was large and secluded among the slate piles and trees. Very peaceful and quiet, except for the many birds!! Heather was welcoming and set us up with an abundance of wood and spring water. We saw lots of wildlife, including a porcupine, on the site. Definitely hope to come back!!

The open secluded space provided was amazing and having firewood on site was top notch. Very beautiful view to wake up too and the trails were great and the trees was so beautiful. Would definitely come back again!! The host was great and showed us where our campsite was when we got there late, 😅 she was nice to wait up. They have hot showers which was great and a cute little farmers market where she had the veggies and eggs there to purchase. Plus there were cows there to see, so cute! Thanks again and would definitely come back again!!

My family (7 year old daughter, husband and dog) had the most wonderful time tent camping at the Hops site on Heather and Paul's beautiful farm. It's such a special, expansive place with so many cool spots to hike to within the farm that we didn't feel like we needed to leave the property. We loved the peace and privacy of the Hops site but next time we'd like to try to Oak tree site which has stunning views. My daughter loved drinking directly from the spring behind Heather's house, and visiting the pergola near dusk. The highland cows against the backdrop of rolling hills and the beautiful slate structures look like paintings. I'd definitely recommend taking the tour of the property to orient yourself. Heather is a lovely person and a knowledgeable and engaging host.

Amazing experience! The owl site felt very secluded, and it was fun to explore trails and the beautiful land. We heard the owls every night during our stay but couldn’t spot them:) Our pups swam in the leaf piles and the quarry, and kitty enjoyed overlooking the site on the picnic table. Everyone had a wonderful time. We arrived after dark due to traffic delays but Heather still welcomed us in person and lead us to the site. The farm stand is cute, and the shower really helpful for our slightly longer stay (4 days). Can’t wait to come back soon.

We had a fantastic time here. The property is sprawling and beautiful, and the Hops site had great amenities—ample firewood on request, a great firepit and chairs, and a clean outhouse. Heather was an excellent host, ensuring we had everything we might need for our stay. Highly recommended!

Stayed at the Oak Tree Site on Heather’s land and I can’t recommend it enough! The site the peaceful, secluded, and on the opposite side of the road and up the hill away from the main farmhouse and other sites. The site had a picnic table, fire pit, a grate to cook over the fire, a charcoal grill, and an outhouse. The site is an open area with a beautiful view of the Milky Way on a clear night. Make sure you’re driving a 4x4 vehicle up to the site - bit of a climb. Heather is a lovely host and is available for any questions or recommendations - lovely hiking trails onsite (go sit at the quarry!)

Slateville Farm Rocks!

Heather provided us with the perfect getaway weekend! Her farm is so beautiful and she is a wonderful hostess! The Hops site was very private and peaceful. The outdoor seating and firepit made it so easy to relax and enjoy the fall evenings. The hiking trails that they have made are great to explore. We also took advantage of the outdoor shower which was such a nice experience. Even the outhouse was comfortable and meticulously maintained, and this is coming from someone who normally tries to avoid them. Last and certainly not least, we are still enjoying some of the home-grown/homemade treats from her farm stand, and cannot wait to return to Slateville. Thank you to Heather and Paul for such a great weekend!

10/10!! Heather’s place is stunning and she was a fantastic host! She was quick to respond as needed and has a well stocked farm stand! The trails and the quarry were great additions to the experience. The oak tree site was perfect for us with the seclusion and the outhouse was clean! If staying at the oak tree site during hot weather, it may be best to pack a canopy for extra shade since the area is pretty open but we had perfect temperatures and didn’t need it! I would definitely recommend and hope to be back someday!

Our new favorite place to camp!

This was my second visit to Heather's farm and I look forward to returning again. The property is gorgeous. The sites are very large, private, and far enough apart that you will not see or hear other campers. My dog and I loved being able to walk all the roads and trails that criss-cross the property right from our campsite. On my first visit I was there in October and the fall foliage was just incredible. The farm is close enough to town so that everything you could need is within easy reach, but far enough to feel quiet and remote. I am already looking forward to our next visit!

Great place to camp! We brought our two kids (1 and 4) and had a great time!! So much to do with all the hiking trails, quarry swimming, cows, bass fishing pond, chickens, sunset pergola, spring water, the list goes on. We just loved it. Got to fall asleep listening to 3 owls hoot. Such a private campsite with nobody nearby. We loved it and hope to return for many more trips.

We absolutely loved staying at the new quarry site!! The farm is HUGE and the property itself is beautiful. The campsite was very well maintained and the new quarry site is only a few steps away from the swimming hole (which was way better than you’re imagining, if that’s even possible). We had a few first-time campers with us and the new quarry site was perfect (surrounded by trees but the site itself is an open clearing). The farm stand had lots of vegetables from Heather’s garden and other necessities for rent/purchase, and Heather was very nice and super accommodating - she even let us stay later after checkout on our last day!! This campsite had everything we were looking for, and it was a short drive from many good hiking spots. We definitely recommend and hope to be back in the future!!

Our stay at the Oak Tree site was absolutely perfect. Our host Heather guided us to our site and was warm and welcoming. The site was totally private and had amazing views. The whole property is yours to explore. We were able to navigate with the host supplied map and check out all of the features the property had to offer. We had a great time and we will be back for sure.
