About Wild Dunbar Hill
Enjoy Beautiful Kentucky on 155 acres of wild forested area. This area has not been touched by logging companies, and the hiking is amazing. Blackberries are abundant in the late spring and summer months. Light pollution is at a minimum and on clear moonless nights you are able to glimpse the milky way, as well as many stars and planets. If you've ever wanted to back wood camp in the quiet hills of western Kentucky this is the spot for you. An easement allows for 4x4 travel, but you'll need your hiking boots to get up the drive if you don't have a 4x4. Deer are PLENTY in the area, and in deer season no camping is allowed. Power lines run across a portion of the property, so if you'd like to have more of a private open area, we suggest hiking back about 30 minutes to this area where the lines give a great view of the night's sky.
In the little town of Clay just down the road you can stop in at Jerry's Cafe for wonderful home made southern food breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have strawberry spring salad, fried fish, lot's of ice cream in a modern rustic look.
