THE FARM is a working farm in Western Kentucky featuring a variety of crop land, horse pasture, open land and wooded areas. The land is level and rolling, and is surrounded by farms on all sides with beautiful views of the Kentucky countryside.
We are just 7 miles from the trendy UNESCO Creative City of Paducah, a sophisticated rivertown that is full of cultural heritage and creativity, where art goes beyond something to appreciate - it's a way of life. It's thriving art scene, local breweries of craft beer, moonshine and bourbon distilleries, great coffee, local fooderies, unique shops and beautiful landscape and architecture keep people coming back. The National Quilt Museum draws thousands of visitors each year, and is not to be missed while visiting Downtown Paducah which is known as "Quilt City, USA". The campus of Paducah School of Art & Design is the latest addition to the Historic Lowertown Arts District.
Paducah is located at the confluence of the Tennessee and Ohio Rivers, and is close to the Cumberland River and Mississippi River. The captivating natural landscape of the Four Rivers Region makes Paducah a prime setting for a variety of active pursuits. Nearby, Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley and Land Between the Lakes offer more than 3,000 miles of shoreline, birding, hiking, wildlife viewing and outdoor adventures.
With alluring new amenities for boating and fishing including a transient boat dock, Paducah is quickly becoming a top port stop on the "bucket list" journey known as the "Great Loop."
Rock climbing, horseback riding and hiking are also available just north of Paducah in the Shawnee National Forrest of Southern Illinois.
Kentucky has four distinct seasons that each present their own natural beauty. Spring-like conditions typically begin in mid-to-late March with summer from mid-to-late May to late September and fall October-November. Visitors should dress in layers and pack accordingly for temperature changes and precipitation common during spring and late fall. These are ideal times to get outdoors and explore the natural beauty of western Kentucky!

Beautiful location gracious hosts
The Farm was absolutely lovely! The hosts were kind and caring, and provided much more than I asked for or expected for a very reasonable price. it truly felt like coming home to friends. Come stay at the Farm!
Laura was a fantastic host! The farm was beautiful and directions easy to follow. We arrived in a rainstorm and Laura provided a shelter for us to use instead of having to right tent setup in the wind and rain. We would definitely like to return for a longer stay.
We rented an 30ft RV during the Covid19 pandemic to drive my elderly mother home safely from Florida to Wisconsin; it was a rather stressful trip, as we had never driven an RV before and were especially concerned about avoiding people. The Art Farm was absolutely lovely in every way, beginning with the prompt and gracious communications before our arrival. We had to change plans a bit, navigating a hurricane and a broken AC that required the RV to be in the shop a few days, and Laura was most understanding and helpful. The area surrounding the farm is beautiful rolling hills horse country, and the farm was very easy to find and convenient to the highway and Paducah. When we arrived, we couldn't have been more pleased. Laura greeted us warmly upon arrival, and helped us figure out the best place to park, assuring us that anywhere we liked was just fine and helping us navigate our RV under trees, offering to move her car and making sure we found the exact spot we wanted. The farm, a quiet and tidy spot, is beautiful. It is more of a house (where they live), with a beautiful grassy lawn, surrounded by fields, a horse pasture and trees, than a traditional farm that you might imagine, but it is home to a friendly horse, an even friendlier cat, and a chicken. It is very carefully and lovingly maintained, and we felt completely relaxed and safe. There are a handful of options for folks who don't have a tent or RV, including a very cute little cottage, and there's a hose with portable water, a moveable fire pit and a very nice outdoor shower. We set up our spot on the grass, overlooking the fields and trees, and it was perfect. Laura was just a text away if we needed anything, but left us to our selves to enjoy the peace and quiet. We were the only ones there, so it was especially private of course, but there are only a few sites and I think even if it was full we would feel very private and peaceful. We would absolutely return should we find our way in that neck of the woods, and I highly recommend it.
Great stay and wonderful hosts. Highly recommend. We loved the quiet of the farm, stars at night and so many fireflies. My son really enjoyed biking around the property and the quiet road. Our daughter loved the cat and tree swing. We will stay here anytime we are in the area. A lovely stay!
Best surprise camping birthday pre
Worth every penny. We had two sites, a tent site and The Red Shed. . This was social distance camping at its finest. Laura was able to accommodate our 2, no 4, no 6 person surprise camping trip with clear requests for information when I was managing my own very high anxiety over our first trip away from home in 2020.
I highly suggest the low cost add ins. You can pack less gear and have everything you need.
I plan to return here multiple time and am already planning a family reunion in The Art Barn I have plenty of time to dream and this farm gave me so many ideas of what is possible as we find our way through this pandemic.
Relaxing-fun family camping retreat
A charming getaway for the whole family (4 kids). Laura was a gracious and attentive host. The kids swam in the pool, enjoyed the swing, playing frisbee and attended the horse and chickens. We had a campsite without anyone else in sight and had a quiet night and morning of camping activities. I think we’ll next try one of the indoor options as the weather cools.
