Tranquil & peaceful ... Beautiful property. Cabins, restroom and showers were clean and well maintained. The Hosts were AMAZING!!! Felt like I was on a high priced tour guided vacation. Extremely nice, fun and enjoyable. Would highly recommend for a clean, safe family get a way in a beautiful serene setting.
Amazing hosts and great new cabins!
Great this is our second time at Summer Shoals and it was better than ever!James and Lora are fantastic host! Love the new cabins they were wonderful and our girls loved playing in the creek.Cant wait to return!
We will be back soon!
Summer Shoals has it all!
Charming Hosts, easy check in and access and beautiful views.
The Cabin was comfy and clean.
The area had all you need from picnic table to grill. Bathrooms are nice to have, but a little hike up a hill which is a bit difficult in the heat of summer, however you can drive up to them so no worries there.
We enjoyed the quiet surroundings and the lovely flow of the river. There are several hikes, but being a one night stay we didn't partake this time. We do plan on a revisit.
Thank you Jim and Lora!
Shower with cold water
purchase wood and ice on site
Waterfall 1 mile hike 1 way
Bring proper equipment for grille, it's over the firepit so a bit hot. Not a prob for us we had Ov Glove Mitts and tongs that worked just fine. Bring chairs, but can sit at picnic table.
Bedding is covered in plastic, so easy to clean, bring your own bedding.
Cabin can sleep 4 or 5 comfortably (a few adults and kids)

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful!
Pleasant riverside location
Beautiful location, hosts were friendly and helpful. Great fresh eggs. Close to Cumberland Falls and Daniel Boone National Forest. Great for Dog Slaughter Falls. If you could add a hot water shower it would be perfect.
Glamping on the cumberland
We stayed in one of Jim and Lora's minimalist cabins, and it was perfect. Right on the Cumberland River and secluded, with great swimming, hiking and fishing. Jim and Lora even secured our cabin and camping gear when a surprise storm blew up while we were canoeing. Terrific hosts and terrific experience!
