There wasn’t any specific issues. The owners were very nice and accommodating. I think I just didn’t realize what kind of venue it was when I booked it. Lucky for us they didn’t have any festivals booked that weekend but it’s not somewhere I would book again knowing that’s the type of crowd they typically serve.

The site was clean, tidy and peaceful despite the large numbers of off road vehicles, in fairness they were only noisy leaving in the morning and returning in the evening. We thought we would be able to hike in the woods surrounding the camp but there were no paths and an incredibly muddy riverside, there were also no trash bins in evidence.

Friendly people, level site, cut firewood for everyone (downed trees from storms this past winter). Power and water hookups worked as expected. All sites are out in the open so it will be warm during the summer, but it is only 50 yards to the river.

Great place for RV camping that doesn’t feel like a state park or huge facility. Lots of good tent, camping spots away from the RVs too. We had a great weekend.

Well it was bad timing for us since the grounds were recently flooded. We decided to cut our losses and left since it didn't seem to have WIFI or tv reception or cell service. The drive in was not nice either but nothing we couldn't handle but we thought if we left early I wasn't comfortable driving the roads in the dark with our motorhome. My wife found the Hipcamp site which is probably not geared for our style of camping.

I booked a primitive campsite but there was a private graduation party going on and I was unable to stay there and had to stay in an RV site. Besides that it was a nice area and hosts were nice

Quiet and peaceful sitting next to the river in our tent. We enjoyed a warm fire while relaxing. Price was fair and owner was friendly. We recently stayed at another camp not far away and there were SxS and 4 wheelers riding around all night making in hard to sleep. At Rockcastle we had no issues and were able to relax!

I love this place! We come every year for Moonshiner's Ball, and couldn't ask for a better experience. You can go primitive with either tent or RV, or use the RV hookups. The staff is friendly and helpful, there is a well-stocked general store for things you might have forgotten, and the facilities are clean. It's a great venue for getting back to nature, just of I-75.

This was the perfect spot for all campers-we had some with a camper, some tent camping and truck camping! The river was beautiful and everything was well maintained. The trails nearby were good for all level of hikers and absolutely gorgeous! We met several lovely kind people as well in our adventure. Definitely planning on coming back.

I had my reservation for at least a week or more but when I got there someone was already in my paid site number 2 so I had to take a different site. It wasn’t that bad just didn’t like how reserving really wasn’t necessary I felt like. Campground was very clean and the campsites were huge!

Wonderful stay! We came in very late at night and were still able to set up camp and get fire wood. The man working the main building was very kind and his dog was the sweetest!

Beautiful property, lots of places to roam, chill by the river, make new friends or enjoy peaceful secluded oasis all to yourself! This campground has everything you need. My favorite part was watching my pups have the time of their life playing in the river and meeting other adorable fur babies. My dogs are not used to being on leashes as they are well behaved, so when we have to keep them leashed at all times at other campgrounds it takes the fun out for us all. Jess was very responsive when needed and accommodating. We look forward to our next adventure at Rockcastle Riverside! Thank you, Jess and John, for a wonderful weekend!

We liked that it was small and aware from any busy towns. My girls loved playing in the river. We stayed in an electric and water site. There isn’t any shade over there. If you want shade/trees, you will want a primitive site.

The overall experience was quite nice. Campgrounds was very clean and well maintained. Sites were large and almost perfectly level. What set the tone for the stay was the map option on Hipcamp stopped us about 1½ mile before the actual location. The road leading to the camp ground is narrow, rough, and not well maintained at all. If you have a larger rig, might not be the spot for you. I have a 36' travel trailer that I tow with a long bed ¾ton, several spots I was uncomfortable with.

I was just looking for a place to stay as I was passing through. If your looking for a place to go for a weekend, I wouldn’t be able to advise.

So for starters
I bought a camper and decided to finally take it out for the 1st time after 6months of having it
I was extremely nervous to pull it let alone camp in it but I went for it anyway
I stumbled upon them GEM of a location by researching some fishing spots for catfish and after a few days between a few different places I settled on this location
I booked for two nights just as a weekend get away
I got there super late the first night of Friday and around 10:30 at night I received a call front the host asking if I was okay and if I was still on the way and if I was possibly having trouble which made me extremely comfortable off of the bat
As for the camp site itself many things to get lost doing I was all over the place
We went to the beach area to swim in Rockcastle river for a while and it’s was extremely clean water for what I’ve seen around the area was also very well maintained
They have a few dogs that are super friendly and very curious little boogers but nothing to be cautious of
The second day I went fishing and didn’t have any luck with catfish but I did catch a 3 ft alligator gar kinda cool
Behind the odd number lots we decided we wanted to have some fun and we went to town with a machete cut a large area out and added a rope swing to the deep section of the river and we had an absolute BLAST!
Jessica is an extremely good host as for everyone else there too
I will Always remember this first camper trip
I Cannot wait to go back with the entire fam

We picked an RV site because we have a massive tent but they let us go over the hill where it was more secluded. They were super nice and helpful. It’s a little bit of a party place which is fine for some but not our cup of tea. But all in all it was a great weekend getaway and have already recommended it to a few. Great place to kayak not so much for catfishing just wasn’t deep enough for our crew lol Our only complaint was no picnic tables they were very sparse and a little hard on your back if you don’t have one. We had a great time and the fireworks were an added delight. Thanks for being great host.

We are repeat campers. We camped here about 4 years ago for the Fourth of July and I’ve always wanted to come back! We came in late and we called to let them know we arrived and they were very helpful with a good empty spot which happened to be the same spot we stayed 4 yrs ago! ;) I highly recommend this beautiful campground and awesome hosts. Also, the hot shower was a mega plus for this girl ❤️
We love everything about Jessica’s campground. The sites are well maintained and beautiful views. We brought our kayaks this time and enjoyed a nice long paddle. If you want to kayak but don’t have your own, you can rent some from Jessica and you are all set!!! 10/10 I’ll be camping here again!!

I loved being able to camp next to the river! The camp was very shady and perfect for the heat of summer, the shower was awesome for after swimming in the river! 10/10 best campsite I've been to. Will totally come back!
