The vibe at My Old Kentucky Home
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
My Old Kentucky Home had some of the best views we could have hoped for! Each spot in the camping area had a beautiful vista, whether you were in the tent, at the fire pit, or walking around. Highlights for us were the rolling hills from up on the ridge, the 1920s barn, the bullfrog pond, and the cow pasture complete with mamas and babies. The grounds were kept beautifully and Jacob and Rachel were gracious, personable, and more than accommodating hosts. The newer pole barn had space in the fridge, electricity, and also came in handy when we had to move inside due to the threat of severe thunderstorms. I would definitely recommend this site for anyone on a road trip coming through Kentucky!
Jacob and Rachel were great hosts. Very friendly and welcoming. Great views from the camp site complete with a fire pit. It rained one night and since our tent wasn't fully waterproof we slept in their garage which was very spacious. Bathrooms and showers were spotless. They have chickens and a frog pond that provide wonderful sounds at night! Can't recommend this hidden treasure enough!
This place was exactly what we needed for a night away from the city! The set-up was awesome, we had everything we needed, and even had fresh eggs for breakfast! It rained but we put our tent in their huge garage (with fridge, chairs, BBQ, etc) and left the garage door open on the end that faced their little pond and barn and cows :). It felt like we were outside until the rain passed and we could go explore again. So pretty. We saw hawks, butterflies, frogs, salamanders, chickens, and cows. We also loved meeting and chatting with Jacob and Rachel, we would definitely recommend their Kentucky home!
