My boys and I spent a fun weekend at one of the primitive campsites on the farm. It was a last-minute trip and the host wasn't aware of my reservation but they were very nice and accommodating.
It's a working farm (I believe that they care for rescue horses) in rural Kentucky. It's not glamping. The campsites are across a pasture and in the woods off a horse trail. I was able to drive to the site with my truck; the host mentioned that they can run you out to the site if you have a car and a bunch of gear.
The campsites are in a holler along a small creek. We checked out two sites - both had picnic tables and fire rings. If you have a really large tent then you might have to pitch down the trail a bit (I saw some larger clearings but we had no problem with our 4 person tent). I believe there is a pit toilet up by the barn (the woods worked fine for three guys). Portable water is available from a spring near the property's entrance. No cell phone coverage, no wifi, no electricity, no problems.
We had the woods all to ourselves. Heard coyotes in the distance, owls at night, and turkeys in the morning. The farm is about 10 minutes to Wolf Creek Dam where we spent the day fishing Hatchery Creek. This farm is a nice alternative to the Kendall Campground if you prefer primitive tent camping.
