Awesome family camping!
We camped for 2 nights with our son and daughters ranging from 6-16. We had a great time! Nice beautiful campsite, near a stream. The sound of the water on the rocks put us to sleep every night! Common area was great! Definitely planning to go back!
Great stay at orchard valley #1
Super nice site with plenty of shade, and more than average campground room to spread out. Trail to lake just up the hill, communal barn is convenient for charging batteries/getting water to cook with/etc. The hosts are as good as they come!
We had such a relaxing 4 day getaway at Hidden Ridge!! The trail to and from the lake was a bit of a challenge, but well worth it when we donned our new water shoes and took the pups swimming!! We also enjoyed the short hike to the natural springs! The trek to the waterfall was intense but the view would have been spectacular (if it had water TO fall!) The portapotty was the cleanest I’ve ever used and our campsite felt private even though we had immediate neighbors. We even enjoyed playing with the frisbee that was left in the field at our site :-)
My only complaint would be that neither of our iPhones would take the address listed on Hipcamp for this location. We actually drove a half hour out of our way to the address our phones automatically selected. We had to search a nearby intersection to get here.
Overall, our trip was everything I had hoped for AND more!! Our friendly hosts and “camping Jesus” saw to that!!
The camp site was good overall, the site 1 was really close to site 2 so wasn't quite secluded. Expect to walk to the shower and toilet if really prefer them. The hike was a really steep for children and for me as an adult. Couldn't get to our site with the boat we had rented which from the map appeared to look that way. Had a big party of 20 people so really wanted a different secluded feel. Overall loved the site as far as the stars and peace at night.
Fun family getaway
Such a fun, easy getaway with friends and kids. We came from Lexington and just stayed one night. Would do that again, or stay longer. There was so much ground to cover and explore. The lake was awesome! Nice little cove to swim around just a short walk from camp.
The hosts were so nice to come say hello. They are super cool and have made the place super cool.
Such a beautiful camp site! It was our first time camping as a family with our 3 children and I truly can’t explain how glad I was to have found this gem! So peaceful and private! The hike to the lake was perfect and so worth it once you get there. We had the best time! Ginger, one of the owners, was so kind and welcoming. The grounds are well kept and stunning! We will be back soon!
