Nature & Wildlife near Kincaid Lake
This is a 13 acre tract that was farmed about 70 plus yrs ago. Remnant of an old house, shed and outhouse are still on the property. Some trails have been made. Much of the property has a mix of cedar and hardwood throughout. The are a couple of small clearings within that may be great wildlife viewing spots.. There are many turkey and deer with fox, coyotes, squirrels, opos

Much of the property has a mix of cedar and hardwood throughout. The are a couple of small clearings within that may be great wildlife viewing spots.. There are many turkey and deer with fox, coyotes, squirrels, opossum, racoons, rabbits, etc. that can be seen occasionally. It is a very quiet piece of property that usually has very nice sunset views. It is very close to Kincaid lake state park which offers golf, swimming, boating and kayaking, swimming, basketball, and other activities. There is a short hiking trail on the property that is close to 1/2 mile in length and starts and end at the campsite. There is no running water or electricity on the property. There is a portable restroom. All trash must be taken out when you leave.

Staying on Dan's land was everything we were looking for! Every once in a while, my partner and I grab the dog and spontaneously go camping for the night; this listing popped up as new and we knew right away that's where we wanted to go. If you're looking for a place of solitude, and a good distance away from any noise or towns, this is your place.
Seeing the old building remnants was really neat, we loved walking along the short trail, and having tons of wood already in piles made gathering firewood super easy. We had a great evening at the fire ring, making food and listening to the coyotes howl.
Definitely recommend!

What a beautiful place! We felt very much "in nature" and had a wonderful time. We were looking for somewhere secluded and "away" and this was perfect. We saw deer, rabbits, the most butterflies I have ever seen in one day and lot of birds. We had a good time strolling around the property and hanging out. We spent nights by the fire telling stories and then with a deck of conversation questions which even the kids engaged in deeply, maybe/probably because the distractions of "modern life" were absent. Tents tucked into trees and got some shade and a few more minutes of morning sleep. We went for a nice hike at Kincaid Lake State Park just a couple miles away. Dan was helpful and quick to respond. This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature yet is easy to get to and is ready for a comfortable primitive camp!

Thank for the great review! It must be a time for butterflies because I too have seen more that I ever have. Glad you enjoyed staying and hope you return again soon.
Dan’s campsite was even better than we anticipated and he was a great host. The property is only 10-15 mins from Kincaid Lake without the crowds and noise of a state park campground. There was plenty of flat ground to set up the tent. Covered firewood and short hiking trails through the woods were a bonus. We were fortunate to stay on a clear night and enjoyed a spectacular sunset. Later the sky was filled with stars and we were even able to see the Milky Way. Definitely recommend.

Thank for staying and the positive review. Hope you come again.
Great little spot in KY for a getaway and very close to the Lake.
Quiet, secluded spot with a cute fire ring and benches. Just what we were looking for in a weeknight camping getaway. As a bonus, it’s a scenic and beautiful drive to the site and only 10 minutes away from the local state park.
Quiet, private setting complete with nicely cleared area for camp site, fire pit, and secluded portajohn. We were greeted by a family of goats on the road in and serenaded by coyotes after sunset.
This is the second time we've stayed here, and we love it every time! It's always private and peaceful, and Dan is very communicative and prompt. We will continue to return time and again!
Dan’s campsite was exactly as described and quite a beautiful and private little getaway from it all. Highly recommend and have booked our next trip while driving home from this trip! We heard coyotes, saw wild turkeys on the property and visited the goats up the street. My favorite part, besides the campfire, was camping under the trees and then waking up to take a long walk on the gorgeous country roads. Everything you need to unwind, relax and de-stress. Dan gave a lot of good tips before the trip and was very available and prompt in his communications. Definitely recommend!
Great stay on Dan's property! The site is private and secluded on a beautiful piece of land. We had the pleasure of walking the trails and seeing a few deer and an owl as well. The sky was perfectly clear with no light pollution nearby, so it was a great spot for stargazing. Highly recommend!
