For boaters in need of a big boat ramp, and a big space to go with it, Side Oats Campground will hook you up with both. This spot in the Hell Creek Area of Wilson State Park is right beside Boat Ramp Cove, with convenient access to the cool blue waters of Wilson Lake. Sounds good, right? You might also be glad to know that the spots are shady, there’s plenty of picnicking space, and the views are magnificent!

Side Oats is right next to Wheat Grass but without all the RVs! Just camped in September 2020- this spot was on a little peninsula so we could set up tent with water almost all around, park our car near the picnic table and have a lovely evening! The bathroom was a good 5 or so minute walk, but that 4AM trip gets you up to watch the starry sky that is nothing short of incredible. This spot at Side Oats is not reservable, we drove up, found a place, and they had envelopes to pay (or we paid the next day- $13).
