About The Yurt
The Light Center offers camping in a 30 ft. diameter Pacific Yurt which is off grid and in the woods. This beautiful structure has a raised platform floor with a deck off the front. There are windows, door and a dome skylight. A couple of futons are provided. Facilities in the barn are generally available. We kindly ask that all outdoor campers, backpackers and “Yurt-ers” bring their own water and camping supplies. Please only start fires in designated fire pits and not at all during drought periods or burn bans. All fires must be COMPLETELY extinguished upon leaving the site. A shovel will be provided and we ask that any waste you leave in the woods be well buried, including toilet paper. Insects spray is advised during tick and chigger season. (A composting bucket toilet is provided for use in the yurt, the yurt is not heated in winter)
The Yurt is available for $45/night for 1-2 people; $10/night per additional person up to max of 6.

The vibe at The Yurt
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had a wonderful time staying here. Robin was a great host and made sure that we felt welcome and had everything that we needed. The Yurt itself had an abundance of room (there were only two of us), and the front porch was perfect for enjoying the evening setting sun and the wildlife sounds. The Yurt has no plumbing, but showers and a kitchen can be accessed in the property's main barn lodge. The Yurt has a few solar powered reading lamps and plenty of candles, so we were able to read after sunset. We had a great time and wish we could have spent more time on this gorgeous property.
The Yurt was so peaceful and intriguing to explore. There are trails surrounding the Yurt that are fun to walk at any time of day. Bring a book and relax under the stars or lay out a yoga mat and practice some movement medicine. The host is so friendly and inviting. This place feels like an oasis, a perfect getaway from the city!
