The Light Center offers camping in a 30 ft. diameter Pacific Yurt which is off grid and in the woods. It is essentially a camping experience, with everything that goes along with that (e.g., no power or running water) There is one really great bonus during the cold, Heaters with propane tanks are provided that will warm the cold evenings with joy even in the colder nights.

We had a wonderful time staying here. Robin was a great host and made sure that we felt welcome and had everything that we needed. The Yurt itself had an abundance of room (there were only two of us), and the front porch was perfect for enjoying the evening setting sun and the wildlife sounds. The Yurt has no plumbing, but showers and a kitchen can be accessed in the property's main barn lodge. The Yurt has a few solar powered reading lamps and plenty of candles, so we were able to read after sunset. We had a great time and wish we could have spent more time on this gorgeous property.
The Yurt was so peaceful and intriguing to explore. There are trails surrounding the Yurt that are fun to walk at any time of day. Bring a book and relax under the stars or lay out a yoga mat and practice some movement medicine. The host is so friendly and inviting. This place feels like an oasis, a perfect getaway from the city!
Great spot if you are looking for a quiet night away. Love the yurt and land. Robin has a great peaceful spot!
The Yurt was a perfect spot for my quick stay in Kansas. The Yurt is huge! Plenty of space -- far enough from the main barn to be secluded but close enough to use communal spaces. The property is beautiful with a nice mix of wildlife. I loved sitting on the deck and getting visits from the dogs on the property. i would love to visit again and be able to spend more time!

So glad you enjoyed your stay Margaret and hope to see you another time. You are most welcome here!
The yurt was amazing! It exceeded all of our expectations. Could not have asked for a more relaxing spot.
The Yurt at The Light Center was a magical oasis in the woods of Kansas and the most perfect place for a weekend get-away. The Yurt offered the privacy and quirkiness we had hoped for, with the convenience of a nearby compost toilet, sweet little walking trails, a nice fire pit, and perhaps best of all, awesome farm animals to befriend. My seven-year-old son fell in love with the friendly dogs, while I became smitten with the guineafowl that roamed about. The nearby barn is simply gorgeous and it was awesome to use the shower and kitchen, and cool down inside for a bit during the hot afternoons. The Yurt was a perfect balance between getting away from it all and reveling in community -- Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Robin (hopefully next time - we adore what she's done with the property!), but we did get to connect with the lovely property caretakers and another traveller, with whom we shared some awesome conversations. It's also a great launch pad for trips to local state parks for swimming and into Lawrence. My son is already asking when we can go back! I highly recommend staying at The Light Center if you can!

I was disappointed to miss meeting you as well Kirsten...maybe next trip. So glad you enjoyed your stay in the yurt!
What a special place to spend a stormy night. Robin is so super, and the whole setup is very inspiring. The yurt could use a few candles or wicks in the oil lamps, which is no biggie, just a friendly suggestion. Otherwise, a totally magical weekend in beautiful Kansas! Thanks so much Robin :)
Thanks for a lovely stay!
We didn’t have a chance to stay at the Yurt due to heavy rain, but Robin kindly offered to stay at the private room in the barn with no extra charge. Place was great! We met some wonderful people there who made our stay even more enjoyable.

Peter and his family were most welcome guests and I would recommend them to other Hipcamp sites.
