These sites are within easy walking distance from parking ~ 100 Yards. The creek on our land runs wild at times of high rainfall and can be quite low in drought. People do jump in occasionally when the water is high. There is a lake not far from us, about 15 minutes drive, if real swimming and fishing is of interest. The camping sites are unimproved and can be a bit wild

People do jump in occasionally when the water is high. There is a lake not far from us, about 15 minutes drive, if real swimming and fishing is of interest. The camping sites are unimproved and can be a bit wild or tame as you choose. We kindly ask that all outdoor campers, backpackers and “Yurt-ers” bring their own water and camping supplies. Please only start fires in designated fire pits. During burn bans or drought periods all fires are prohibited. All fires must be COMPLETELY extinguished upon leaving the site. A composting outhouse is available and restroom is available at the barn when there are no retreats occurring. Also a shovel is available and we ask that any waste you leave in the woods be "off trail" and well buried, including toilet paper. Insects spray is advised during tick and chigger season.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Robin was super kind enough to let us sleep in the barn the night we stayed since it had poured recently (obviously not the best conditions to camp in)! We did get to explore around the property a bit and you could probably spend hours wandering the woods of Kansas there. The Light Center is a beautiful place with wonderful souls!
This place was just what we needed - a little haven on our journey, filled with delightful people, cozy spaces, and an unexpected array of things to see. The grounds are beautiful, even in the muddy season when things are just preparing to bloom, and there's so much to see! Our stay was brief, so we didn't get to take any of the recommended hikes, but we hope to return to explore the area more. Our host was kind and hospitable, and the other folks living nearby were very friendly and eager to greet us and exchange stories. Because of the rain we camped close to the house but had a great experience and look forward to scoping out a more rustic campsite here in the future!
Cute cozy spot
The light center is an awesome spot. The land was so beautiful and the lovely couple was so laid back with everything. They even let us check out later than the posted time! Very sweet, and would definitely spend some more time there.
Robin, was so sweet. The barn is Beautiful and we loved everything about are camp. We went back into the woods for a primitive camping trip and we got it. But we was not to for to hike in and out to the barn and water and restroom. I loved everything thing about our trip to the Light Centet
Robin was extremely nice and welcoming. If it's rained lately, be sure to pack some dry wood and kindling. They are pretty remote so you likely won't find a place on the way to get any. She provides some on site but I hated how much we had to use of her stash to get a fire going, I wish I would've brought some of my own. My apologies, Robin.
