We are the Hayse Family and we recently moved from New Braunfels, Texas to Derby, Kansas. Why leave the excitement of one of the fastest growing areas in the country for Derby you ask? The answer is two fold. Family – we have family all over Kansas and for years have been driving 10 hours for every holiday. We finally decided that our time is just too precious to be spending that much of it on the road. While we miss our Texas friends dearly, we are so happy to finally be close to family! Homesteading – we have always had the dream of raising our own food. We found a beautiful piece of land between Derby and Rose Hill. We are renovating the house first and then will focus more on the homesteading efforts. We currently have chickens, goats, a garden plot, and fruit trees. All our animals will be pasture raised and all our food will not be treated with anything harmful. We sometimes have pigs and by the end of the year hope to have least one dairy cow. Perfect spot for an overnight

Exactly as shown, a nice flat mowed campsite with picnic table on the Kansas Prairie. Firewood was provided. Quiet, but there are active train tracks nearby. I would stay here again.

Olivia was very nice and responded to all my texts, The camp site was level and fairly quiet, some road noise. The “toilet” was a little disappointing though. It was falling over and had not been cleaned in a while. But was a good location for my itinerary and couldn’t beat the price.

Pleasant stay

Hayseed Farm was a pleasant site and met all expectations. The owner was very prompt in responding to my questions. Enjoyed hearing the crickets and other sounds of nature.

Perfect, comfortable, welcoming!

We LOVED this spot! Olivia and Dean went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were so friendly and welcoming to both the humans and our dogs and I'm so grateful for that. I opted to purchase some of their farm fresh eggs and we cooked them over the fire pit for breakfast. It was the cherry on top! The camping spot was well-maintained and perfectly flat for our tent. And the view of the moon and stars was unmatched. Go stay there!

Best Camping Experience Ever

The host was so sweet and the campsite was amazing! I went here for a campout with my friends for my birthday and we all had so much fun. Very spacious and its about 1/4 of a mile away from anyone so you can have privacy. Loved it and the fun experience I was able to have because of it.
