This campsite has river access but there is not a beach area. The wooded area gives plenty of opportunities to roam and explore.
NOTE: Please familiarize yourself with poison ivy before camping here. There is a bit around you'll want to avoid.

We ended up really enjoying our stay, however, the main thing I want to point out is that the descriptions/reviews of sites #1 and 2 seem to be the same. They are very different, though. Site 1 does not have easy access to the river. After climbing under an electric fence, there is no easy trail to the water. We went through tall plants/fallen trees to eventually see it, but there was no sand and it was too high/fast to get in. We thought we wouldn't get to enjoy the sand and the water as expected. We did end up finding out from the owner that there is better sand 400 feet away. We could not walk straight there because of high water. What ended up working was walking about half a mile to the site #2 and getting to the river that way. Site 2 has no fence to climb under, and the trail to the water is easy/clean. We felt bad having to pass by the other camping family several times to get to the water, but they were very kind about it. Basically, I'd recommend site #2 if you are wanting to access the river. And I'd recommend that the sites are described differently on the website. We'll come back, but next time we'll choose site 2.
This spot was fantastic. Review says 3 minute walk to the river but thats overkill! Its right down a very short path.
Our dogs had a wonderful time. We booked an extra night within an hour of our arrival. There was a thunderstorm we had expected and daniel was thoughtful enough to bring dry firewood and check on us. There is plenty of firewood to gather yourself. We also saw 2 bald eagles and plenty of other wildlife.
This campsite is amazing. Secluded, beautiful, and extremely close to the river, we couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the weekend. Daniel was extremely accommodating and communicative, and he even stopped by briefly shortly after we arrived to make sure we were settling in alright. The river was high after the recent rains so we didn't get into the water, but we're looking forward to using the ready river access in the future. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway for a day or a week, you can't beat this spot. We'll definitely be back. Thank you Daniel for your hospitality!

Really beautiful and fantastic!! Recommend
Great experience! Very private. There was a group at campsite #2, but that is far enough away to where we never heard or saw them. The walk to campsite #2 was amazing, very open, expansive view of the farm and immense cottonwood trees! Regarding the river access, Amy B.'s review is very accurate, read that if river access is important to you. We went on a hike through the woods looking for the river access. We followed orange flags on trees since there really isn't an obvious trail. After 10 or 15 minutes the flags just stopped, we assumed they were taking us to the river access, but if they did we couldn't figure it out. Later when entering the woods we chose not to follow the flags and found the river access was about a minute away, just don't expect a trail. The "access" we found was a small opening in the overgrowth, a muddy spot where you could walk right in, but not wide enough for 2 camp chairs. Regarding poison ivy, we never saw any, and we did tramp around quite a bit in the overgrown woods!

Very beautiful campsite with lots of privacy. My only complaint is that it’s confusing and hard to get to the river.
Cotton Woods #1 was exactly as described. The campsite was great, with early morning sunshine and shade the rest of the day. The 100 feet to the river requires a bit of care to avoid an electric fence and a patch of poison ivy. The picnic table and fire pit were perfect. Being only 40 minutes from my home, I do hope to stay again.
This site was not mowed so made it uncomfortable. We were not able to access the river from this site.
We will definitely be back! The site was beautiful and secluded. Very clean. You can get to the river from this site but actual access to it will vary on time of year and river levels. We put in out tubes at the Yoder bridge and floated to the Haven bridge. Daniel came by to make sure we were all good. We brought an easy up for shade, highly recommend if you have one or something similar. Be sure to bring something to collect your trash and recycling.
