Today, I’m beyond honored to welcome Marcy Venture Partners and Dreamers Fund to the Hipcamp community. Marcy Venture Partners is co-founded by Shawn Carter (“Jay-Z”), Jay Brown, and Larry Marcus, and Dreamers Fund is co-founded by Will Smith, Keisuke Honda, Kosaku Yada, and Takeshi Nakanishi. Through our partnership with the Cultural Leadership Fund, we’re proud to collaborate with some of the world’s most influential cultural leaders, taking a major step toward achieving our mission to get more people outside. Our vision for Hipcamp is to fundamentally shift culture in a way that fosters widespread connections to the outdoors, encompassing every person who needs to breathe fresh air and directly experience nature’s awe-inspiring impact.
“Marcy Venture Partners is about investing in culture and where people’s passions, time, and attention are headed. Hipcamp is on the forefront of culture, creating meaningful and joyful experiences with the outdoors,” said Larry Marcus, Marcy Venture Partners Co-Founder and Managing Director. “While mobile devices and technology enables their marketplace of unique camping sites, Hipcamp experiences provide a welcome respite from those very devices. Their ethos of creating an inclusive community that values the environment, preservation, and the great outdoors makes them an ideal partner to our firm. We are thrilled to be partnered with Alyssa and the team to help grow their business.”
“Spending more time outside has an undeniable, positive impact on people’s lives, and we’re so excited to support Hipcamp in their mission to get more people enjoying fresh air,” said Dreamers Fund Managing Partner Kosaku Yada. “As an organization, we’re all about improving lives through technology and we admire Hipcamp’s work to expand access to the outdoors and build community through nature.”
For a long time, being “outdoorsy” meant you fit a very specific mold. Thankfully, that’s changing. As the latest North American Camping Report demonstrates, camping is more popular than ever, driven by a younger, more diverse population eager to experience the outdoors in new ways. Now, anyone and everyone can be outdoorsy. Anyone can be a Hipcamper, regardless of their experience or comfort level. Tent camping in the backcountry? Great! You’re a Hipcamper. Cabin camping in the woods? Also a Hipcamper. Living that #vanlife? Welcome to the Hipcamper club!
We’re building a new kind of outdoor community where everyone belongs.
