Idyllwild, CA is known for fresh air, mountain vistas and is a hub for hikers along the 2,600 mile Pacific Crest Trail. Camp under the Colorado stars and wake up to breathtaking mountain views at this ranch in the foothills of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains near Fort Garland. This is an all-time primitive camping spot in Colorado.

Exploring your National Parks has never been easier with Hipcamp. While lots of national park campgrounds (not surprisingly) fill up months in advance, there’s a good chance you will be able to find a new gem just outside on Hipcamp. Free Verse Farm is a hilltop herb farm run by two art-making, herb-loving farmers in Chelsea, VT, where you are invited to tour their cultivated fields and become acquainted with the wide variety of tea, culinary, and medicinal herbs that they grow and process on the farm.
