Exciting news! Now you can access real-time campsite availability information from your favorite federal parks directly on Hipcamp. So, if you’re looking to reserve a campsite in Yosemite this summer, simply check out our Yosemite Park Page to see what federal and private campsites are available, browse photos and reviews, then pick the site that excites you most and best suits your travel needs. Voila!
Hipcamp unlocks access to unique outdoor experiences on more than 300,000 acres of private land on farms, ranches, vineyards, and wild landscapes across the country. By adding federal campsite availability to our existing catalogue, we’re expanding our efforts to provide our community with the most comprehensive, easily-accessible, and up-to-date information on camping throughout the US. This marks a major step forward in making the campsite reservation process more seamless and less frustrating, ultimately helping us fulfill our mission to get more people outside.
This new feature is the result of an API integration with Recreation.gov and the culmination of years of grassroots organizing for the adoption of open data standards in public campsite reservations. We’re so proud of the work we’ve done alongside our partners in the Access Land coalition to connect more people with their land, generate more interest and revenue for federal parks, and expand overall access to the outdoors.
Check out the data in action at some of our favorite parks!
Happy camping!
