What’s better than camping? Camping with good company, good food, and a good ol’ cocktail in hand after a long day of exploring. In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, or as we like to call it, Campo de Mayo, we’re resurfacing one of our best camping cocktails, the Hipcamp-arita! Find all the tools and tips you need below for hand crafting this camping classic with a twist.


The tools
-A sharp knife (a Leatherman or pocket knife will work)
-1 Cocktail shaker
-1 Oxo jigger (for measuring your spirits)
-1 Hand citrus juicer
-1 Hawthorn strainer
-1 Canvas Lewis bag (for crushing ice)
-1 wooden mallet or small hammer (you will most likely have one of
these for pounding in tent stakes or you can use a rock)
-Eco-friendly cocktail cups (reusable, to keep waste to a minimum)
-A small cooler full of ice
The Hipcamp-arita
-1.5 oz Tequila Ocho Reposado
-0.5 oz CapRock Pear Brandy
-0.5 oz Agave Nectar
-0.75 fresh squeezed lime juice
-Pinch of salt
-Pinch of Tajin Clasico seasoning
-Pinch of hibiscus powder
Directions
1. In a cocktail shaker combine tequila, brandy, agave and lime juice, add ice, shake vigorously.
2. Strain contents into an Eco-friendly cup that has been rimmed with a blend of the salt, Tajin and hibiscus.
3. Kick back and enjoy after a long day of hiking and adventure.
